What happened
Antoine Semenyo - Aggravated ATFL Ankle Sprain. Jeppe published his analysis on 17 Nov 2025, in the 2025/26 FPL season.
Injury explained (physio view)
Semenyo was subbed off after 56 minutes due to an aggravated left anterior talo-fibular ligament (ATFL) sprain.
The key word is "aggravated", indicating he had issues with it before the game, they knew about it, and still played him. Not unusual.
National team reports suggest he twisted (inversion) his foot during the game and therefore worsening it.
These often look bad but most players return quickly.
Best case: just a few days, which I currently believe. More information or footage could of course change my POV.
ATFL sprains are extremely common and players often play through minor ones.
As an FPL owner I would stay calm and so far I expect him to play in GW12.
