Privacy Policy
Read TheFantasyTool's privacy policy. Learn how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when using our fantasy sports tools and services.
Last updated: 7 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data TheFantasyTool collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have. It applies to thefantasytool.com and the services we offer there.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Bisgaard Fantasy Sports, CVR 44157578, Marie Grubbes Alle 16, 2800 Kongens Lyngby, Denmark, which operates TheFantasyTool.
For any question or request about your personal data, email support@thefantasytool.com.
What we collect, why, and our legal basis
We only collect what we need to run the service. The legal bases below refer to Article 6(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Your account. When you sign in with Google, Apple or X, or with a one-time code sent to your email, our login provider Clerk gives us your email address and an account ID, plus your name and profile picture where the sign-in provider shares them. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we receive an Apple relay address instead of your real one. We use them to run your account. Legal basis: our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Subscription and payment. When you start a trial or subscribe, Stripe handles the payment. We receive your billing name, email address, subscription status and invoices. We never see your full card number. Legal basis: our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legal obligation to keep accounting records (Art. 6(1)(c), the Danish Bookkeeping Act).
- One free trial per person. To stop the free trial from being restarted again and again, we store your email address, your sign-in account IDs, a fingerprint of your payment card that Stripe gives us (not the card number) and the IP address used when the trial started. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the free trial (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- What you save. Saved teams, team plans, drafts, your own player estimates, settings, and the fantasy game team IDs you enter. Legal basis: our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- How you use the site while signed in. Which games, tools and articles you open. We use this to improve the service, to see which games our users follow and to decide what goes in our newsletter. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving the service (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Feedback, surveys and support. What you write to us, the email address you choose to give, and the technical details (browser, page, error message) that come with an error report. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you and fixing problems (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Discord and referrals. If you link Discord, we store your Discord user ID to give you access to the subscriber server. If you use the referral programme, we store who referred whom. Legal basis: our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Newsletter. We send our newsletter by email through beehiiv, and only to people who have asked for it: you tick the newsletter box on the site (when you sign up, or in the one-time question we show signed-in users), and new subscribers then confirm by email (double opt-in). We keep a record of when you said yes and the exact wording you saw. Paying for a subscription does not put you on the newsletter. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Analytics, only if you accept. Google Analytics and Mixpanel show us how the site is used. If you are signed in, Mixpanel links your use of the site to your account ID, name and email address, so we can see how subscribers use the tools. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
- Marketing, only if you accept. Google Ads conversion tracking measures whether our ads lead to sign-ups, and PromoteKit credits the partner who referred you. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
- Server logs. Our servers log the IP address, browser and page of every request. We use the logs to keep the site secure and running and to find errors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure service (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Who we share data with
We use the following providers to run the service. They process personal data on our behalf and may only use it to provide their service to us:
- Clerk: sign-in and user accounts (USA).
- Stripe: payments and invoices (EU and USA).
- DigitalOcean: hosting of our servers (Frankfurt, Germany).
- Google: Google Analytics and Google Ads (only with your consent), and Google Workspace for our email (EU and USA).
- Mixpanel: product analytics, only with your consent (data stored in the EU).
- PromoteKit: partner referral tracking, only with your consent.
- beehiiv: sending our newsletter (USA).
- Slack: internal notifications to our team, for example when someone subscribes (USA).
- Anthropic: an AI assistant our team uses to answer support questions and look into account problems (USA).
- Discord: only if you link your Discord account (USA).
We do not sell your personal data.
ChatGPT (OpenAI): only if you connect TheFantasyTool to ChatGPT yourself. When you connect, Clerk shares your name and email address with ChatGPT so it can show which account is linked, and ChatGPT then receives our predictions for the games and players you ask about. We do not send it your payment details or your saved teams. What you write in ChatGPT is covered by OpenAI's own privacy policy (USA).
Transfers outside the EU
Our servers are in Frankfurt, Germany, and Mixpanel stores our analytics data in the EU. Several of the other providers are based in the USA. Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, the transfer is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, and otherwise on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards.
How long we keep your data
- Your account, what you save and your usage history: for as long as you have an account. They are deleted when you delete your account.
- Billing records: 5 years from the end of the financial year they belong to, as required by the Danish Bookkeeping Act. Stripe keeps these records for us.
- The free-trial record: for as long as we offer a free trial, so that deleting and recreating an account does not give a new trial.
- Feedback and support messages: for as long as we need them to handle the matter. When you delete your account, the link between them and your account is removed.
- Server logs: up to 8 weeks.
- Analytics: Google Analytics keeps data for at most 14 months. Mixpanel keeps data for as long as it helps us compare how the site is used from season to season; ask us and we will delete your Mixpanel profile.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop.
- Your cookie choice: in your browser, until you change it or clear your browser data.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself on your account page. We then cancel any active subscription, delete your login and delete the data linked to your account: saved teams, team plans, drafts, your own estimates, settings, usage history, survey answers and your Discord link. Feedback and bug reports you have sent are kept without the link to your account.
We keep only what we are required or entitled to keep: billing records (the Danish Bookkeeping Act) and the free-trial record described above.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it (access);
- have incorrect data corrected (rectification);
- have your data deleted (erasure);
- have our use of your data limited (restriction);
- receive the data you have given us in a machine-readable format (data portability);
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest, including, at any time, to our newsletter (objection);
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before. For cookies, use "Cookie settings" in the footer.
Email support@thefantasytool.com to use any of these rights. We answer within one month.
You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, Denmark, dt@datatilsynet.dk, www.datatilsynet.dk.
Do you have to give us your data?
You can use large parts of the site without an account. An account is needed to save teams and to subscribe, and payment details are needed to subscribe. Analytics and marketing cookies are optional and stay off unless you accept them.
Automated decisions
We do not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you based only on automated processing. When you start a free trial, we automatically check whether you have had one before. If you have, you can still subscribe, just not start another free trial. Contact us if you think the check got it wrong.
Cookies and similar technologies
Until you choose otherwise in the cookie banner, we only use the necessary cookies and browser storage listed below. Analytics and marketing tags are not loaded at all until you accept them. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer or the button below; withdrawing deletes the analytics and marketing cookies set on our site.

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to our systems is limited to the people who need it, and payment card details are handled by Stripe and never stored by us.

Our site links to other websites, such as fantasy game providers. We are not responsible for how they handle personal data, so please read their privacy policies.
