F1 Fantasy Gameweek 20 tips: boost picks and best buys

F1 Fantasy Gameweek 20 preview: Brazil best drivers, boost picks and differentials

F1 Fantasy Gameweek 20 is the Brazilian Grand Prix, and the team locks at qualifying on Saturday 7 November. It opens a three-race run of Brazil, Las Vegas and Qatar, so the moves you make this week are the ones you carry towards the end of the season. This preview ranks every driver and constructor on our predicted points (pP) for the weekend, and names the boost pick, the value picks worth a slot and the popular picks to move on from.

Two things define the round. The constructors still carry the scoring: Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull all project above 50 points, McLaren follows at 43.1, and the best driver on the grid (24.4) scores less than half of any of those three. And the bottom of the grid is a points trap: Aston Martin and Cadillac both project below -10 as constructors, and four of the five most-owned drivers in the game project 2.2 points or less in Brazil. That gap between what managers own and what the model expects is where this round's points are.

All numbers below come from our live F1 Fantasy player picks, and you can solve the highest-scoring seven yourself with the F1 Fantasy optimal team calculator.

The run ahead: Gameweek 20 to 22 (Brazil, Las Vegas, Qatar)

In F1 every entrant races the same circuit, so the "program" is the run of three weekends: Brazil → Las Vegas → Qatar. Our projections for Las Vegas and Qatar currently carry the Brazil numbers and are rebuilt when those weekends' betting markets open, so read the three-race column as a baseline ranking rather than a circuit-by-circuit call. What it says is clear: the top three constructors are separated by 7.8 points over three races, and the order of the top two drivers does not change. A pick that leads in Brazil is the pick to hold through Qatar. The F1 Fantasy race schedule shows each weekend's projections as they update.

Best constructors for F1 Fantasy Gameweek 20

Ferrari (28.8m) is the value anchor of the round and of the run. It projects 50.6 points in Brazil, the best points per million of any constructor (1.76), and its baseline over Brazil → Las Vegas → Qatar is 151.8, only 6.9 behind Mercedes for 5.2m less. At 42% it is also the most-owned constructor, so it protects your rank as much as it scores. Keep it for the whole run.

Mercedes (34.0m) tops the table at 52.9 points and a 158.7 baseline over Brazil → Las Vegas → Qatar. It is the premium choice for managers who want the single highest number, and 35% ownership makes it close to template.

Red Bull (33.3m) is the differential constructor of the run. It projects 50.3 points, only 0.3 behind Ferrari, and its 150.9 baseline over Brazil → Las Vegas → Qatar is practically level with Ferrari's, yet only 8% of managers own it. It also stacks naturally with a Verstappen boost and Isack Hadjar (both below).

Racing Bulls (17.7m) is the mid-priced option at 19.4 points (1.10 per million) and a 58.2 baseline over the three races. If you cannot fit two of the top three, Racing Bulls next to Ferrari is the efficient route. McLaren (33.0m, 43.1) is the top-four team to leave out: it costs 4.2m more than Ferrari and projects 7.5 points fewer in every race of the run.

The cheap constructor slot

This is the slot that needs attention this week. Aston Martin (4.5m) projects -10.7 and Cadillac (3.0m) -10.2, so the cheapest constructors cost you points rather than just failing to score. Audi (11.6m) is the cheap constructor to own: 9.7 points in Brazil, 0.84 per million, and a 29.1 baseline over Brazil → Las Vegas → Qatar. It out-scores Haas (5.4) and Williams (4.1) while costing less than both. If your structure only works with a minimum-price constructor, Cadillac at 3.0m is the one: it projects 0.5 more than Aston Martin for 1.5m less.

Best drivers for F1 Fantasy Gameweek 20

Premium drivers

Max Verstappen (28.8m, Red Bull) is the top-projected driver in Brazil at 24.4 points, and his baseline of 24.4 → 24.4 → 24.4 over Brazil → Las Vegas → Qatar makes him the driver to own for the run. At 0.85 points per million he is also the best value of any driver despite being the most expensive. Only 20% of managers own him, which makes him the rare pick that is both the top projection and a differential.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli (27.5m, Mercedes) is the close second at 22.4 points (0.81 per million) and a 67.2 baseline over Brazil → Las Vegas → Qatar. At 37% he is the template premium, and owning both him and Verstappen is the strongest top end in the game.

Behind them there is a clear step down to the Ferrari pair. Charles Leclerc (24.7m, Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (25.0m, Ferrari) both project 17.7 points and a 53.1 baseline for the run. Leclerc is 0.3m cheaper and owned by 28%; Hamilton is owned by 18%, so he is the pick if you want the same points with less company. Lando Norris (25.9m, McLaren) is the premium differential at 8% ownership: 16.5 points in Brazil and a 49.5 baseline, 1.8 more per race than George Russell for 1.4m less.

Value drivers

Isack Hadjar (16.3m, Red Bull) is the best mid-priced driver in the game. He projects 10.8 points in Brazil, a 32.4 baseline over Brazil → Las Vegas → Qatar, and his 0.66 points per million is the best of any driver below 24m. He stacks with a Red Bull constructor and a Verstappen boost, and 28% own him.

Below Hadjar the projections drop sharply, and the cheap drivers are funding slots rather than points engines. Liam Lawson (11.1m, Racing Bulls) at 3.0 points (a 9.0 baseline over the three races) is the best of them. Pierre Gasly (9.0m, 1.7) and Arvid Lindblad (10.0m, 2.2) are close behind; neither is worth a transfer on its own.

For the very cheapest driver slot, Alexander Albon (3.8m, Williams) projects -2.1 on a flat Brazil → Las Vegas → Qatar baseline. That is 4.4 points better per race than Sergio Perez (-6.5) and 5.8 better than Valtteri Bottas (-7.9), for 0.8m more than either.

Best boost picks for F1 Fantasy Gameweek 20

The boosted driver scores double, so the boost belongs on the highest projection you own, not the biggest name.

  1. Max Verstappen (28.8m, Red Bull) - 24.4 projected, 48.8 boosted. The top driver projection in Brazil, and with the same baseline through Las Vegas and Qatar he is the boost plan for the whole run unless the markets move.
  2. Andrea Kimi Antonelli (27.5m, Mercedes) - 22.4 projected, 44.8 boosted. Two points behind Verstappen before the boost, so he is the near-equal option if you own him and not Verstappen.
  3. Charles Leclerc (24.7m, Ferrari) or Lewis Hamilton (25.0m, Ferrari) - 17.7 projected, 35.4 boosted. A clear step down; boost one of them only if neither of the top two is in your seven.

The boost is a plan across rounds rather than a one-off pick. With Verstappen and Antonelli both holding their projections through Gameweek 22, owning one of them gives you the best boost option in all three races, and that matters more than any single transfer this week.

Who to sell before F1 Fantasy Gameweek 20

Oliver Bearman (5.6m, Haas) is the clearest sale. He is the most-owned driver in the game at 51%, but he projects -1.0 in Brazil and the same through Las Vegas and Qatar. Why now: there is no race in the run where he is expected to score, so waiting does not buy you a better moment to move. Upgrading that slot to Hadjar adds 11.8 projected points per race.

Nico Hulkenberg (7.8m, Audi) and Gabriel Bortoleto (5.8m, Audi), owned by 36% and 31%, both project -0.2 with a flat baseline over the three races. Why now: Hadjar projects 11.0 points more than Hulkenberg in every race, which adds up to 33 points over Brazil → Las Vegas → Qatar. Note that the Audi constructor is a different case: at 9.7 points it is the cheap constructor to own.

George Russell (27.3m, Mercedes), 20% owned, projects 14.7. That is not a bad weekend, but his teammate Antonelli projects 22.4 for 0.2m more, and Hamilton projects 17.7 for 2.3m less. Why now: the 7.7-point gap to Antonelli repeats in every race of the run, so the swap pays back within two races even if it costs an extra transfer.

Haas constructor (12.8m), 24% owned, projects 5.4. Audi projects 9.7 for 1.2m less. Why now: it is a straight upgrade that also saves money, and the gap holds for all three races.

Aston Martin constructor (4.5m) and Sergio Perez (3.0m, Cadillac) are the cheap slots costing points. Aston Martin projects -10.7; Cadillac does 0.5 better for 1.5m less, and Audi turns the slot into positive points. Perez, 21% owned, projects -6.5, while Albon projects -2.1 for 0.8m more. Why now: both projections are flat through Qatar, so these are points you lose in every race you hold them.

Carlos Sainz (8.4m, Williams), 22% owned, projects -1.7. Gasly (9.0m) projects 1.7 for 0.6m more and Lawson (11.1m) 3.0. A small gain per race, so fold it into a wider move rather than spending a transfer on it alone.

One popular pick you can wait on: Arvid Lindblad (10.0m, 43% owned) projects 2.2, close to Lawson's 3.0. That is not worth a transfer by itself.
