F1 Fantasy Gameweek 19 tips: boost picks and best buys

F1 Fantasy Gameweek 19 preview: Mexico best drivers, boost picks and differentials

F1 Fantasy Gameweek 19 is the Mexico City Grand Prix, and the team locks at qualifying on Saturday 31 October. It opens a three-race run of Mexico, Brazil and Las Vegas before Qatar in Gameweek 22, so the transfers you make now are the ones you will carry through most of the rest of the season. This preview ranks every driver and constructor on our predicted points (pP) for the weekend, names the boost pick, the cheap picks worth a slot and the popular picks to move on from.

Two things define the round. First, the constructors carry the scoring: the top four teams project between 42.7 and 52.7 points, and even the lowest of them out-scores the best driver (23.8) by almost 19 points. Second, three of the four most-owned drivers in the game are cheap midfielders who project almost nothing in Mexico. That gap between what managers own and what the model expects is where this round's points are.

All numbers below come from our live F1 Fantasy player picks, and you can solve the highest-scoring seven yourself on the F1 Fantasy optimal team calculator.

The run ahead: Gameweek 19 to 21 (Mexico, Brazil, Las Vegas)

In F1 every entrant races the same circuit, so the "program" is the run of three weekends rather than a set of opponents: Mexico → Brazil → Las Vegas. Our projections for Gameweek 20 and Gameweek 21 are rebuilt when those weekends' betting markets open; until then they carry the Mexico numbers, so read the three-race column as a baseline ranking rather than a circuit-by-circuit call. What it tells you is simple: the order at the top is not expected to change, and a pick that leads in Mexico is the pick to hold through Las Vegas. Check the F1 Fantasy race schedule for the projections as each weekend updates.

Best constructors for F1 Fantasy Gameweek 19

Ferrari (28.5m) is the value anchor of the round and of the run. At 49.2 projected points in Mexico it is the best points per million of any constructor (1.73), and over Mexico → Brazil → Las Vegas its 147.6 baseline sits only 10.5 points behind Mercedes for 5.5m less. It is also the most-owned constructor at 41%, so it protects your rank as much as it scores. Keep it.

Mercedes (34.0m) tops the constructor table with 52.7 points and a 158.1 three-race baseline. It is the premium pick for managers who want the highest single number, and 35% ownership means it is close to template.

Red Bull (33.0m) is the differential constructor of the run. It projects 51.4 points, 1.3 behind Mercedes, costs 1.0m less and is owned by only 9% of managers. Over Mexico → Brazil → Las Vegas that is a 154.2 baseline that almost nobody has. Pairing Red Bull with Ferrari gives you two of the top three teams for 61.5m, and it doubles up nicely with a Verstappen boost (see below).

Racing Bulls (17.1m) is the mid-priced option: 23.1 points at 1.35 per million, well clear of everything below it, and a 69.3 baseline across the three races. If you cannot fit two of the top four, Racing Bulls next to Ferrari is the efficient route.

The cheap end is where many squads lose points. Aston Martin (5.1m) projects 5.7 points in Mexico, only 0.8 fewer than Haas (6.5) for 7.5m less, and it beats Williams (4.8 at 12.0m) outright. As a cheap constructor through Brazil and Las Vegas it frees money for a top-four team, and at 3% ownership it is also the least-owned team on the grid. McLaren (32.7m, 42.7) is the one top-four team to leave out: it costs more than Ferrari and projects 6.5 points fewer.

Best drivers for F1 Fantasy Gameweek 19

Premium drivers

Max Verstappen (28.5m, Red Bull) is the top-projected driver in Mexico at 23.8 points, and his baseline of 23.8 → 23.8 → 23.8 across Mexico → Brazil → Las Vegas makes him the driver to own for the run. At 0.84 points per million he is also the best value of any driver, despite being the most expensive. Only 22% own him.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli (27.4m, Mercedes) is the close second at 22.6 points (0.82 per million) and a 67.8 three-race baseline. He is owned by 36%, so he is the template premium. Owning both him and Verstappen is the strongest top end in the game this round.

Behind them there is a clear drop. Charles Leclerc (24.4m, 17.1) and Lewis Hamilton (24.7m, 16.3) sit a tier lower; Leclerc is the better of the Ferrari pair for 0.3m less. Lando Norris (26.0m, McLaren) is the premium differential: 14.9 points at 8% ownership, a baseline of 44.7 over the three races, and he out-projects George Russell (14.2) while costing 1.6m less.

Value drivers

Isack Hadjar (16.5m, Red Bull) is the best mid-priced driver in the game. He projects 12.2 points in Mexico, a 36.6 baseline over Mexico → Brazil → Las Vegas, and his 0.74 points per million is the third best of any driver, behind only Verstappen and Antonelli. He also stacks with a Red Bull constructor and a Verstappen boost. 29% own him.

Below Hadjar the projections fall away fast. Liam Lawson (10.5m, Racing Bulls) at 4.3 points and Pierre Gasly (9.6m, Alpine) at 3.4 are the best of the cheaper drivers; Gasly matches Arvid Lindblad's 3.4 for 1.0m less. Neither is a points engine, so treat them as the slots that fund Verstappen, Antonelli and a top-four constructor rather than as picks in their own right.

For the very cheapest slot, Lance Stroll (3.0m, Aston Martin) projects -0.4, which is 0.8 better than Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas (both -1.2) at the same 3.0m price.

Best boost picks for F1 Fantasy Gameweek 19

The boosted pick scores double, so the boost should go on the highest projection you own, not the biggest name.

  1. Max Verstappen (28.5m, Red Bull) - 23.8 projected, 47.6 boosted. The top driver projection in Mexico, and with the same baseline through Brazil and Las Vegas he is the boost plan for the whole run unless the markets move.
  2. Andrea Kimi Antonelli (27.4m, Mercedes) - 22.6 projected, 45.2 boosted. Only 1.2 points behind Verstappen before the boost, so he is a near-equal option if you own him and not Verstappen.
  3. Charles Leclerc (24.4m, Ferrari) - 17.1 projected, 34.2 boosted. A clear step down; boost him only if neither of the top two is in your seven.

Because the boost is a plan across rounds rather than a one-off pick, owning Verstappen or Antonelli matters more than any single transfer: with both projections holding through Gameweek 21, either gives you a strong boost option in all three races.

Who to sell before F1 Fantasy Gameweek 19

Oliver Bearman (6.2m, Haas) is the clearest sale. He is the most-owned driver in the game at 52%, but he projects 0.4 points in Mexico and the same 0.4 baseline through Brazil and Las Vegas. Why now: the run ahead gives no race where he is expected to score, so every week you hold him is a slot doing nothing. Moving that slot up to Hadjar is the single biggest upgrade most squads can make.

Nico Hulkenberg (7.2m, Audi) and Gabriel Bortoleto (6.4m, Audi), owned by 36% and 31%, project 1.4 points each, and the baseline does not rise over the three races. Why now: Hadjar projects 10.8 points more than Hulkenberg per race for 9.3m more, a gap that adds up to more than 30 points over Mexico → Brazil → Las Vegas.

George Russell (27.6m, Mercedes), 21% owned, projects 14.2 points. That is not a bad weekend, but his own teammate Antonelli projects 22.6 for 0.2m less. Why now: the 8.4-point gap per race repeats in every race of the run, so the swap pays for itself inside two races even if it costs you a paid transfer.

Carlos Sainz (8.2m, Williams), 22% owned, projects -0.4. Gasly (9.6m) projects 3.4 and Lawson (10.5m) 4.3 for a small step up in price. The Haas constructor (12.6m, 24% owned, 6.5 points) is a similar case: Aston Martin scores almost the same for 7.5m less, and that money is what lets you reach a second top-four constructor.

One popular pick you can wait on: Arvid Lindblad (10.6m, 44% owned) projects 3.4, the same as Gasly. That is not worth a transfer on its own; fold it into a wider move if you have a free transfer spare.
