F1 Fantasy is the official Formula 1 fantasy game: you pick five drivers and two constructors for each of the season's 23 rounds, boost one of them for double points, and score from qualifying, the sprint and the race. Most F1 fantasy tools rank drivers by last race's score or by raw pace. Ours projects the whole scoring system - finishing position, qualifying, positions gained and lost, overtakes, fastest lap, Driver of the Day, DNF risk and constructor pit-stop points - and it does that per circuit, because how many points are on the table depends enormously on the track.

How F1 Fantasy scoring works
Points come from three sessions, not one. Qualifying pays down to P10, the sprint pays down to P8, and the race pays down to P10 on the familiar 25-18-15 ladder. On top of that sit the bonuses that decide most fantasy weekends.
Positions gained and overtakes are two separate categories and this game pays for both - positions gained is your grid slot minus your finishing place, while an overtake is a legal on-track pass. A driver who starts 15th, gets passed twice and re-passes five cars banks five overtake points and three position points.

Why overtakes decide your season
Overtakes are the single largest scoring category for midfield drivers, and almost every F1 fantasy tool ignores them because no bookmaker prices them. Measured across the live 2026 season through round 12, overtakes were 57% of Pierre Gasly's season total and 88% of Esteban Ocon's. Rank drivers on finishing position alone and you gut exactly the part of the grid where this game is won.
So we model them from each entrant's own realised season rate and then scale it by the circuit. That spread is huge: in the reference season Monaco produced four overtakes and Spain produced 55, and our per-circuit factor runs from about 0.36 at Monaco to about 1.31 in China. A track with no history in the source scores a neutral 1.0 rather than a guess.

Squad rules, transfers and the boost
You field seven picks a round - five drivers and two constructors - with no bench, so every pick scores. One of them is boosted and scores double, which makes the boost decision worth more than any single transfer in most rounds; the player picks table ranks candidates by projected points so the choice is a number rather than a feeling.
You get two free transfers a round and any transfer beyond them costs 10 points. The team planner scores a transfer plan against the projections before you play it, so you can see whether a move clears its own cost.

Two free transfers per round. Any transfer beyond your free ones costs 10 points, so a move needs to be worth more than that in projected points before it pays for itself - which is exactly what the team planner checks.
Who should I boost in F1 Fantasy?
The boosted pick scores double, so it should be the entrant with the highest projected points for that round rather than the biggest name. Because the boost multiplies a projection rather than a reputation, a midfield driver at a high-overtaking circuit can out-earn a front-runner at Monaco.
