WSL Fantasy Gameweek 10: captain picks and best buys
WSL Fantasy Gameweek 10 preview: best buys, captain picks and differentials
WSL Fantasy Gameweek 10 is a full thirteen-match round, with all seven WSL fixtures and six in WSL2, and it is the last round before a run where only the WSL clubs play. On the current fixture list, Gameweeks 11 and 12 hold the seven WSL matches each and nothing from WSL2. So the transfers worth making this week are the ones that hold up over Gameweeks 10 to 12: Arsenal's home double and Manchester United's three winnable fixtures are the programs to buy into, Manchester City's turns after a trip to Chelsea, and the WSL2 players most managers carry have one game left before two blank weeks. This preview covers who to buy, who to captain, the differentials and who to sell, and every pick is judged on the next three Gameweeks, not on this round alone.
Last week's analysis is in the WSL Fantasy Gameweek 9 preview. Every projection below comes from the WSL Fantasy player picks page, pulled on 7 November, and the expected starting elevens are on the WSL predicted lineups page. New to the game? Start with the WSL Fantasy guide.
The programs: whose next three Gameweeks are worth owning
Arsenal have the best defensive program in the game and the second-best attacking one. [H]LCL → [H]WHU → [A]EVE gives them 7.42 expected goals and 1.40 expected clean sheets over three Gameweeks, and it opens with the highest win probability and clean sheet chance of the week: London City at home, a 75% win probability, 2.56 expected goals and a 45% clean sheet chance. West Ham at home follows, and the Everton trip in Gameweek 12 is still a fixture Arsenal are expected to win. This is the run to own from now, not from next week.
Manchester United are the steadiest run. [H]CRY → [A]BIC → [H]BHA gives them 6.51 expected goals and 1.22 expected clean sheets, third in the game for clean sheets and fourth for goals, with none of Arsenal, Chelsea or City in it. Crystal Palace at home this week is the best of the three at 74% to win and 42% for a clean sheet. Chelsea are right behind on [H]MCI → [A]LIV → [H]LCL: City at home is a near coin-flip, but Liverpool away and London City at home give them 1.26 expected clean sheets over the run.
Manchester City top the attacking column on 7.57 expected goals, but almost all of it sits in Gameweeks 11 and 12. [A]CHE → [H]TOT → [A]CRY opens with a 25% win probability at Chelsea, and then turns into two winnable fixtures, Tottenham at home and Crystal Palace away. That is the shape that decides the City calls below: hold what you have, and if you are buying City, Gameweek 11 is the round it pays off. Tottenham ([H]EVE → [A]MCI → [H]CHA) and Aston Villa ([H]BIC → [A]CHA → [A]WHU) are the best of the rest, Villa with Charlton and West Ham away after Birmingham at home.
At the bottom, Crystal Palace ([A]MAN → [A]LCL → [H]MCI) have the weakest program among WSL clubs, and London City's [A]ARS → [H]CRY → [A]CHE gives them only 3.59 expected goals, with Arsenal away and Chelsea away either side of the Palace game.

The WSL2 clubs all play this week, and then, on the current fixture list, none of them has a fixture in Gameweeks 11 or 12. Their three-Gameweek totals below cover one match and cannot be compared with the table above. Newcastle United, the most-owned WSL2 club, go to Sunderland (46% win probability), and Bristol City visit Sheffield United (54%).

Goalkeepers for Gameweek 10
Hannah Hampton (5.5m, CHE) is still the keeper to own, and 58% of managers already do. Chelsea's [H]MCI → [A]LIV → [H]LCL gives her 4.0 → 4.8 → 4.8, the highest three-Gameweek total of any goalkeeper at 13.6. The City game is the weakest of the three (28% clean sheet chance), and the two that follow are the reason to hold her, not to sell.
Phallon Tullis-Joyce (5.5m, MAN) is the alternative at the same price and the better keeper for this week alone: Manchester United's 42% clean sheet chance against Palace is the second-highest of the round. Over [H]CRY → [A]BIC → [H]BHA she goes 4.0 → 4.1 → 3.9 for 12.0, a flat line from the steadiest program in the game. Akane Okuma (4.5m, AVL) is the budget pick at 4.5m and 4% ownership. Villa's [H]BIC → [A]CHA → [A]WHU gives her 3.6 → 3.7 → 3.2, 10.5 over three Gameweeks, level with keepers who cost more.
| Player | Team | Price | Owned | GW10 | GW11 | GW12 | GW10-12 | Weighted GW10-15 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hannah Hampton | CHE | 5.5m | 58% | 4.0 | 4.8 | 4.8 | 13.6 | 16.1 |
| Phallon Tullis-Joyce | MAN | 5.5m | 20% | 4.0 | 4.1 | 3.9 | 12.0 | 14.2 |
| Akane Okuma | AVL | 4.5m | 4% | 3.6 | 3.7 | 3.2 | 10.5 | 12.5 |
Defenders for Gameweek 10
Maya Le Tissier (6.0m, MAN) is the top defender over the next three Gameweeks and the safest buy in the position. Manchester United's [H]CRY → [A]BIC → [H]BHA gives her 5.7 → 5.5 → 5.0 for 16.2, she is Manchester United's penalty taker, and she is projected for 87 minutes this week, more than any other defender in this section. 31% of managers own her, so she is not a differential, but she is the defender the next three Gameweeks are built around.
Ona Batlle (6.0m, ARS) is the Arsenal defender to buy, and the timing favours this week. [H]LCL → [H]WHU → [A]EVE gives her 5.1 → 5.2 → 4.6, 14.9 over three Gameweeks, and she carries 0.13 expected assists a game on top of the best clean sheet program in the game. Leah Williamson (5.5m, ARS) is the 0.5m cheaper way into the same run at 4.5 → 4.8 → 4.1, and Emily Fox (6.5m, ARS) sits between them on 4.6 → 4.8 → 4.5.
This is where the round ranking and the three-Gameweek ranking disagree. Ellie Carpenter (7.0m, CHE) projects only 3.9 against City, well below the Manchester United and Arsenal defenders this week, but [H]MCI → [A]LIV → [H]LCL lifts her to 5.7 and 6.2, and her 15.8 is the second-best three-Gameweek total of any defender. If you own her, hold. Alex Greenwood (6.0m, MCI) is the same story one fixture later: City's [A]CHE → [H]TOT → [A]CRY gives her 3.7 → 5.2 → 6.1, so she is a buy for Gameweek 11 rather than now, and you can wait a round on her.
The differentials are the two cheaper Manchester United full-backs. Anna Sandberg (5.5m, MAN) projects 5.6 this week, second among all defenders, with 0.26 expected assists, and goes 5.6 → 4.8 → 4.5 for 14.9 at 3% ownership. Hanna Lundkvist (5.0m, MAN) is the cheapest way into the same program at 5.0m: 5.1 → 4.7 → 4.5, the best points per million of any WSL defender this week (1.02). Owning two United defenders alongside Tullis-Joyce stacks the same clean sheet, which is the point while their run is this even.
Lynn Wilms (6.0m, AVL) is a 6.0m Villa option on [H]BIC → [A]CHA → [A]WHU: 5.5 → 4.6 → 3.8, third-best defender score this week and 3% owned. Her projected minutes drop after Gameweek 10, so treat her as a one- or two-Gameweek pick and plan the sale. Natalia Ramos (5.0m, LIV) is the opposite case, a defender to buy later rather than now: Liverpool's [A]BHA → [H]CHE → [A]BIC gives her 4.2 → 2.4 → 5.3, and Crystal Palace at home in Gameweek 13 lifts her to 5.9.

| Alex Greenwood | MCI | 6.0m | 28% | 3.7 | 5.2 | 6.1 | 15.0 | 17.6 |
| Ona Batlle | ARS | 6.0m | 29% | 5.1 | 5.2 | 4.6 | 14.9 | 18.0 |

Midfielders for Gameweek 10
Jessica Park (8.0m, MAN) is the midfielder to buy, and the case is the whole run. Manchester United's [H]CRY → [A]BIC → [H]BHA gives her 6.0 → 5.0 → 5.2, the top three-Gameweek total of any midfielder at 16.2, and her weighted six-Gameweek score of 19.6 is the highest in the position too. She is projected for 75 minutes with 0.31 expected goals this week, and only 18% of managers own her. Buy her now and there is no reason to touch her before Gameweek 13.
Kirsty Hanson (8.0m, TOT) is within 0.1 of Park over three Gameweeks (16.1) but takes a bumpier route. Tottenham's [H]EVE → [A]MCI → [H]CHA gives her 5.6 → 3.5 → 7.0: Everton at home is a strong start, City away is the dip, and Charlton at home in Gameweek 12 is the best single midfield projection of the next three Gameweeks. Olivia Holdt (7.5m, TOT) is the cheaper Tottenham option on the same run at 5.1 → 3.2 → 6.0, and Signe Gaupset (6.0m, TOT) the value one at 6.0m, 4.5 → 3.0 → 5.4.
Ella Toone (7.0m, MAN) projects 5.6 against Palace, level with Hanson this week, and goes 5.6 → 4.5 → 4.1 on the same United program as Park. Beth Mead (7.0m, MCI) is the opposite: 3.5 → 5.7 → 6.2, a weak start at Chelsea and then the third-best three-Gameweek total of any midfielder at 15.4. If you are buying one and keeping her, the three-Gameweek totals say Mead edges Toone, but Mead's points arrive from Gameweek 11, so she is a buy for next week and Toone is the one for this week.
Georgia Stanway (6.5m, ARS) is the Arsenal midfielder for the program, 4.8 → 4.8 → 4.1 on [H]LCL → [H]WHU → [A]EVE, with a 0.39 clean sheet probability feeding her score this week. On a tighter budget, Chasity Grant (6.0m, AVL) is a 6.0m Villa starter at 1% ownership on 4.1 → 4.5 → 3.8, and Julie Blakstad (5.5m, TOT) is a 5.5m Tottenham starter on 3.9 → 2.9 → 4.3, projected for 82 minutes this week.
Lauren Hemp (8.0m, MCI) is a hold rather than a sell, even at 52% ownership and 3.1 this week. City's [A]CHE → [H]TOT → [A]CRY lifts her to 4.7 and 5.3, so the bad week is the one she is already in. If you are choosing between her and Park at the same price for the next three Gameweeks, Park is ahead in every one of them.

Forwards for Gameweek 10
Alessia Russo (11.5m, ARS) is the top forward over the next three Gameweeks and the captain this week. Arsenal's [H]LCL → [H]WHU → [A]EVE gives her 7.4 → 7.8 → 6.4 for 21.6, she is Arsenal's penalty taker, and 7.4 against London City is the highest projection of the round. She is owned by 48% of managers, and the other half should be considering her: the two home games make this the moment to buy.
Khadija Shaw (12.5m, MCI) is the hold of the round. 69% own her, and at 4.7 at Chelsea this is her weakest Gameweek in the next six. But City's [A]CHE → [H]TOT → [A]CRY lifts her to 8.1 against Tottenham and 8.5 at Crystal Palace, the two highest projections of any player in those Gameweeks. Selling her into the Chelsea game and buying her back for the run costs you the transfers for nothing. Keep her.
Elisabeth Terland (7.0m, MAN) is the best differential in the game. Manchester United's [H]CRY → [A]BIC → [H]BHA gives her 7.2 → 6.3 → 6.2, 19.7 over three Gameweeks, third among all forwards, and her 0.80 expected goals against Palace is the highest of any player this week. She is 7% owned at 7.0m, and her points per million this week (1.03) beat both premium forwards. Amalie Vangsgaard (6.5m, AVL) is the other one: Villa's [H]BIC → [A]CHA → [A]WHU gives her 6.1 → 6.4 → 5.6 for 18.1, a flat line from a 73-minute starter at 1% ownership.
West Ham's forwards are a one-week play. Viviane Asseyi (8.0m, WHU) projects 6.7 against Charlton, third-highest of any player this week, and she is West Ham's penalty taker. But [H]CHA → [A]ARS → [H]AVL drops her to 2.6 at Arsenal before 4.9 against Villa. Kelly Gago (5.5m, WHU) is the cheaper version at 5.5m, 5.7 → 2.7 → 4.7. Either is a buy for Gameweek 10 with the sale planned for Gameweek 11; for a forward you keep, Vangsgaard is the better use of the money.
| Player | Team | Price | Owned | GW10 | GW11 | GW12 | GW10-12 | Weighted GW10-15 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alessia Russo | ARS | 11.5m | 48% | 7.4 | 7.8 | 6.4 | 21.6 | 26.1 |
| Khadija Shaw | MCI | 12.5m | 69% | 4.7 | 8.1 | 8.5 | 21.3 | 23.9 |
| Elisabeth Terland | MAN | 7.0m | 7% | 7.2 | 6.3 | 6.2 | 19.7 | 23.6 |
| Amalie Vangsgaard | AVL | 6.5m | 1% | 6.1 | 6.4 | 5.6 | 18.1 | 21.4 |

Captain picks for Gameweek 10
The captain scores double in WSL Fantasy, so the armband is worth 14.8 on Alessia Russo, the top projection of the round against London City. Elisabeth Terland (7.2 against Palace) is the closest alternative and the differential captain for anyone chasing rank, and Viviane Asseyi (6.7 against Charlton) is third. Jessica Park (6.0) is the safe midfield option.
Plan the next two armbands now, because they decide which premium forward to own. Khadija Shaw is the projected top captain in Gameweek 11 (8.1 against Tottenham, ahead of Russo's 7.8 against West Ham) and again in Gameweek 12 (8.5 at Palace). Owning both Russo and Shaw covers all three Gameweeks; if you can only fit one, Russo's 21.6 over the run edges Shaw's 21.3.
Who to sell before Gameweek 10
Alexia Putellas (8.5m, LCL) is the sell, and this is the round to do it. 56% of managers own her, and London City's [A]ARS → [H]CRY → [A]CHE gives her 2.5 → 5.1 → 2.4: Palace at home in Gameweek 11 is a decent fixture, but it sits between Arsenal away and Chelsea away. Park projects 16.2 to her 10.0 over the run (6.0 → 5.0 → 5.2) for 0.5m less, so waiting for the Palace game means carrying her through two weak weeks to collect one good one. Daniëlle van de Donk (4.5m, LCL) (30% owned, 2.2 → 3.2 → 2.0) and Mapi León (5.5m, LCL) (27% owned, 1.8 → 4.2 → 1.6) are on the same program and go for the same reason.
Kerstin Casparij (8.0m, MCI) is the City defender to swap out. She is 29% owned and projects 2.2 → 3.6 → 4.2 on [A]CHE → [H]TOT → [A]CRY, while Greenwood projects more in every one of the three Gameweeks for 2.0m less. City's run is good from Gameweek 11, so the case is not the fixtures but the price: the swap is a gain in all three Gameweeks, and there is nothing to wait for. Victoria Pelova (6.5m, TOT) is the same call at Tottenham: 22% owned, 2.7 → 2.1 → 3.0, while Gaupset projects more in all three for 0.5m less.
The WSL2 players are a sell, but you can wait a round. Martha Thomas (5.0m, NEW) (16% owned) and Kaitlyn Torpey (4.0m, NEW) (16%) play at Sunderland this week, a fair fixture, and Anna Tamminen (5.0m, NEW) (11%) is the top-projected goalkeeper of the round at 4.4. After that, on the current fixture list, Newcastle have no match in Gameweeks 11 or 12, so their program reads [A]SUN → no fixture → no fixture → [H]WAT in Gameweek 13. So play them this week and move them out before the Gameweek 11 deadline.

FAQ
Who should I captain in WSL Fantasy Gameweek 10?
Alessia Russo. She projects 7.4 against London City, the highest of any player this week, and 14.8 as captain. Elisabeth Terland (7.2) and Viviane Asseyi (6.7) are the alternatives, and Khadija Shaw is the projected top captain in Gameweeks 11 and 12.
Who are the best differentials for WSL Fantasy Gameweek 10?
Elisabeth Terland (7% owned) is the best, with 7.2 → 6.3 → 6.2 over Gameweeks 10 to 12. Amalie Vangsgaard (1%), Anna Sandberg (3%) and Hanna Lundkvist (1%) are the other low-ownership picks.
Should I sell Alexia Putellas before WSL Fantasy Gameweek 10?
Yes. Putellas projects 2.5 → 5.1 → 2.4 over Gameweeks 10 to 12, with Arsenal away and Chelsea away in that run, and Jessica Park projects 16.2 over the same three (6.0 → 5.0 → 5.2) for 0.5m less.
Should I sell Khadija Shaw before WSL Fantasy Gameweek 10?
No. Her 4.7 at Chelsea is her weakest projection of the next six Gameweeks, and she rises to 8.1 and 8.5 in Gameweeks 11 and 12, the top projections of those rounds.
Do WSL2 players have fixtures after WSL Fantasy Gameweek 10?
Not in Gameweeks 11 and 12 on the current fixture list. Every WSL2 club plays in Gameweek 10, then the next two Gameweeks hold only the seven WSL matches each, so plan to move WSL2 players out before the Gameweek 11 deadline.
