Tattico Serie A Matchday 8: best buys and captain picks
Tattico Serie A Matchday 8 preview: best buys, captain picks and differentials
Tattico Fantasy Serie A Matchday 8 kicks off on Friday 23 October with Torino - Monza and ends on Sunday 25 October with Udinese - Milan. Matchday 9 is a midweek round on 27-29 October and Matchday 10 runs from 31 October to 2 November, so three rounds land inside eleven days. With one free transfer a round, the move you make now has to work for all three. Every pick below comes with its Matchday 8-10 program and its projected points across that stretch.
The picture is clear at the top. Juventus have the best defensive run in the league and Inter the best attacking one, while Como, Lazio and Atalanta all have three-round programs worth buying into. Roma are the team to plan for: Napoli away is the hard game, and from Matchday 9 they have the best long run in the game. The full numbers are on the Tattico player picks page, and last week's analysis is in our Tattico Serie A Matchday 7 preview.
Matchday 8-10 programs: whose next three rounds are worth owning
The table ranks every Serie A team on its next three fixtures, best attacking program first. The first four number columns are Matchday 8 only; the last three are cumulative over Matchdays 8, 9 and 10. 3-round CS is the expected number of clean sheets out of three, not a percentage. All twenty teams play once in each of the three rounds, so there are no blanks and no doubles in this window. Kick-off times are on the Tattico schedule.

| Genoa | [H]VEN | 46% | 1.55 | 32% | [H]VEN → [H]JUV → [A]LEC | 3.75 | 0.93 |
| Sassuolo | [A]COM | 14% | 0.97 | 10% | [A]COM → [H]LAZ → [H]FIO | 3.67 | 0.62 |
| Fiorentina | [A]INT | 12% | 0.97 | 8% | [A]INT → [H]ATA → [A]SAS | 3.54 | 0.54 |
| Udinese | [H]MIL | 21% | 0.99 | 18% | [H]MIL → [A]PAR → [H]ROM | 3.41 | 0.72 |
| Cagliari | [H]BOL | 32% | 1.16 | 27% | [H]BOL → [A]ROM → [A]LAZ | 2.97 | 0.65 |
| Monza | [A]TOR | 28% | 1.14 | 22% | [A]TOR → [H]NAP → [A]BOL | 2.90 | 0.62 |
| Venezia | [A]GEN | 27% | 1.14 | 21% | [A]GEN → [H]INT → [A]COM | 2.84 | 0.48 |
| Parma | [A]LAZ | 14% | 0.75 | 15% | [A]LAZ → [H]UDI → [A]ATA | 2.58 | 0.53 |
| Lecce | [H]JUV | 12% | 0.73 | 13% | [H]JUV → [A]FRC → [H]GEN | 2.55 | 0.62 |
Inter have the best attacking run again: [H]FIO → [A]VEN → [A]MIL adds up to 6.37 expected goals. Fiorentina at home (2.46 expected goals, 69% win probability) is the strongest attacking fixture of the round, and Venezia away (2.15) is the best attacking fixture of Matchday 9. Milan away on Matchday 10 is the one to plan around, not a reason to stay away.
Juventus have the best defensive run: [A]LEC → [A]GEN → [H]NAP is worth 1.26 expected clean sheets, the highest total in the game. The trip to Lecce carries a 48% clean-sheet chance, the best of the round, and Genoa away (40%) and Napoli at home (38%) keep the run steady. This is the defence to build around.
Como are the all-round program: [H]SAS → [A]TOR → [H]VEN is second on expected clean sheets (1.18) and third on expected goals (5.68). Sassuolo and Venezia at home are two very good fixtures with Torino away between them. Their run turns after that, because Inter away follows on Matchday 11, so Como assets are a three-round hold rather than a season-long one.
Lazio ([H]PAR → [A]SAS → [H]CGL, 1.13 expected clean sheets) and Atalanta ([H]FRC → [A]FIO → [H]PAR, 5.91 expected goals) complete the list of teams to target. Lazio's 47% clean-sheet chance against Parma is the second-best of the round. Atalanta have two very good home games around a fair trip to Florence.
Roma are the team to plan for. [A]NAP → [H]CGL → [A]UDI starts with their hardest game of the next six (40% win probability), but Cagliari at home (62% win, 43% clean sheet) starts a run of [A]UDI → [H]SAS → [A]PAR → [H]MON. No team has more expected clean sheets over Matchdays 9-13 (2.08). Avoid Fiorentina, Venezia, Parma and Lecce: none of the four reaches 0.65 expected clean sheets over the window, and none has a single fixture above 1.4 expected goals.
Best Tattico goalkeepers for Matchday 8
Guglielmo Vicario (6.1m, JUV) is the top goalkeeper this week and over three rounds. [A]LEC → [A]GEN → [H]NAP projects 5.0 → 4.4 → 4.3, 13.7 in total, and Napoli at home is followed by Fiorentina away and Venezia at home (5.1) on Matchdays 11-12. He is the keeper to buy and keep.
Jean Butez (5.2m, COM) is the value alternative at 0.9m less: [H]SAS → [A]TOR → [H]VEN projects 4.4 → 4.0 → 4.8, 13.2 in total and second in the position. Marco Carnesecchi (5.5m, ATA) projects 4.0 → 3.9 → 5.0 on [H]FRC → [A]FIO → [H]PAR, and his 5.0 against Parma is the best goalkeeper score of Matchday 10.
Christos Mandas (5.1m, LAZ) has the second-highest projection this week at 4.8 against Parma, but 4.8 → 3.6 → 4.2 puts him fourth over three rounds (12.6). This round and the horizon disagree here: if you are buying one goalkeeper to keep, take Butez ahead of Mandas.
Pierluigi Gollini (4.5m, ROM) is the long-term budget keeper. Napoli away holds him to 3.6, then [H]CGL → [A]UDI → [H]SAS → [A]PAR → [H]MON runs 4.5 → 4.0 → 4.3 → 4.5 → 4.8. Over six weighted rounds he scores 15.0, level with Butez and Mandas (14.9) for less money. Napoli away is a tough fixture but not a disaster, so if you have the transfer free you can buy him now; otherwise make it your Matchday 9 move.
Best Tattico defenders for Matchday 8
Gleison Bremer (6.8m, JUV) is the top defender on every horizon. He projects 5.5 at Lecce, the highest score of any player this round, and runs 5.5 → 4.7 → 4.5 on [A]LEC → [A]GEN → [H]NAP, 14.7 over three rounds. Pierre Kalulu (6.1m, JUV) is the second Juventus defender at 5.1 → 4.4 → 4.3 (13.8). Mehmet Zeki Celik (4.8m, JUV) gets you into the same program for 1.3m less, at 4.8 → 4.2 → 4.1 (13.1) and 1.00 points per million this week. Tattico allows three players per club, so Vicario, Bremer and Kalulu (42.2 over three rounds) is the strongest Juventus trio.
Nuno Tavares (5.3m, LAZ) is the pick of the Lazio defence. He projects 5.3 against Parma, level with Nico Paz for the second-highest score of the round, and runs 5.3 → 4.0 → 4.2 on [H]PAR → [A]SAS → [H]CGL (13.5). Napoli away on Matchday 11 drops him to 3.1, so he is a three-round buy. Romano Floriani (4.6m, LAZ) is the budget version: 4.9 → 3.7 → 4.0 (12.6), and at 1.07 points per million no defender returns more this week.
The round and the horizon disagree in the second slot. Tavares out-scores Kalulu this week (5.3 to 5.1), but Kalulu has 0.3 more over three rounds and keeps scoring when Lazio go to Napoli. If you are buying one defender to hold beyond Matchday 10, buy Kalulu; if you plan to sell again after Matchday 10, Tavares is the better value.
Jacobo Ramon (5.5m, COM) projects 4.6 → 4.0 → 4.8 on [H]SAS → [A]TOR → [H]VEN (13.4), only 0.1 behind Tavares over three rounds. Pair him with Butez and Como's clean sheets against Sassuolo and Venezia pay both. Federico Dimarco (7.0m, INT) projects 5.0 → 4.7 → 4.0 on [H]FIO → [A]VEN → [A]MIL (13.7), but his projected 58 minutes make him a premium price for part of a match. Yann Bisseck (6.0m, INT) plays 77 projected minutes on the same program for 4.8 → 4.5 → 3.6 (12.9).
Juan Miranda (4.9m, BOL) is the defender to buy now for Matchday 10. [A]CGL → [A]MIL → [H]MON projects 4.2 → 3.5 → 5.2, and his 5.2 against Monza is the top projection of any player that round. Bologna's run stays fair after that ([A]PAR → [H]UDI → [A]VEN), which gives him a six-round weighted score of 15.1, second only to Celik among defenders at 5.0m or less. Nadir Zortea (4.4m, BOL) follows the same shape at 4.0 → 3.2 → 4.9 (12.1).
Plan ahead for Roma. Gianluca Mancini (5.9m, ROM) projects 3.8 at Napoli, then 4.8 → 4.2 → 4.6 → 4.7 → 5.0 on [H]CGL → [A]UDI → [H]SAS → [A]PAR → [H]MON. His six-round weighted score of 15.8 is fourth among all defenders and the best outside Juventus and Inter. Wesley (6.1m, ROM) runs 3.9 → 4.9 → 4.0 (12.8). Giovanni Di Lorenzo (5.6m, NAP) is joint top on Matchday 9 at 4.9 against Monza, but Juventus away on Matchday 10 drops him to 3.6.
Best Tattico midfielders for Matchday 8
Nico Paz (10.5m, COM) is the top midfielder this week and over three rounds. He projects 5.3 against Sassuolo with 0.42 projected goals, and [H]SAS → [A]TOR → [H]VEN runs 5.3 → 4.0 → 4.8, 14.1 in total and 1.3 clear of anyone else in the position. Two of the best attacking fixtures of the window, and his 4.8 against Venezia is the best midfield score of Matchday 10. Inter away on Matchday 11 drops him to 3.2, so this is the run to own him for.
Charles De Ketelaere (7.3m, ATA) is second over three rounds. [H]FRC → [A]FIO → [H]PAR projects 4.4 → 3.7 → 4.7 (12.8), and Monza away on Matchday 11 keeps him at 4.1. Gustav Isaksen (6.0m, LAZ) out-scores him this week at 4.7 against Parma, but 4.7 → 3.8 → 3.8 is 12.3 over three rounds and he falls to 2.8 at Napoli. If you are buying one mid-price midfielder to keep, buy De Ketelaere.
Federico Bernardeschi (6.0m, BOL) has the best three-round total of any midfielder at 6.0m or less. He takes Bologna's penalties and projects 4.1 → 3.6 → 4.7 on [A]CGL → [A]MIL → [H]MON (12.4), then 4.1 → 4.1 on [A]PAR → [H]UDI. His program never drops below 3.6, so you can buy him and stop thinking about the slot.
Christian Pulisic (9.0m, MIL) is a hold rather than a buy. [A]UDI → [H]BOL → [H]INT projects 4.6 → 4.1 → 3.5 (12.2), and he takes most of Milan's penalties. Inter at home on Matchday 10 is the dip, and Frosinone at home on Matchday 12 (4.2) brings him back. Nicolo Barella (8.0m, INT) projects 4.3 → 3.9 → 3.2 (11.4) on Inter's run, less than Pulisic for 1.0m less.
Cheaper picks: Mattia Zaccagni (5.7m, LAZ) is Lazio's penalty taker and projects 4.5 → 3.3 → 3.7 on [H]PAR → [A]SAS → [H]CGL (11.5). Kenneth Taylor (5.0m, LAZ) and Davide Frattesi (5.2m, LAZ) both project above 4.0 against Parma, at 11.0 and 11.2 over three rounds. Only three Lazio players fit, so choose between them and Tavares or Floriani. Éderson (4.6m, ATA) is the cheapest regular starter in Atalanta's program at 3.7 → 3.2 → 3.8 (10.7), with a share of their penalties.
Buy next week, not this one: Giorgi Kvernadze (5.0m, FRC) projects 3.4 at Atalanta, then 4.4 against Lecce and 3.8 against Torino. Giacomo Calo (5.0m, FRC) takes Frosinone's penalties and follows the same shape (3.3 → 4.3 → 3.8). Both are Matchday 9 moves.
Best Tattico forwards for Matchday 8
Marcus Thuram (10.4m, INT) and Randal Kolo Muani (7.2m, JUV) share the top forward projection this week at 4.6. Thuram's [H]FIO → [A]VEN → [A]MIL runs 4.6 → 4.1 → 3.5 (12.2); Kolo Muani's [A]LEC → [A]GEN → [H]NAP runs 4.6 → 3.7 → 3.3 (11.6). Thuram has 0.6 more over three rounds for 3.2m extra. Kolo Muani takes Juventus's penalties and plays 77 projected minutes to Thuram's 64, which makes him the value pick, but he competes with Vicario, Bremer and Kalulu for your three Juventus places.
Both are best owned for this run and no longer. Thuram drops to 3.5 → 3.0 on [H]COM → [A]ATA after Matchday 10, and Kolo Muani falls from 4.6 to 3.3 by Napoli at home. Neither is a sell yet.
Goncalo Ramos (8.7m, MIL) has the most secure minutes of the premium forwards (78 projected) and runs 4.1 → 3.8 → 3.4 on [A]UDI → [H]BOL → [H]INT (11.3). Francesco Pio Esposito (8.6m, INT) matches that total on Inter's program, but on 62 projected minutes. Anastasios Douvikas (8.2m, COM) projects 4.3 against Sassuolo and then 3.2 at Torino, 11.1 in total.
Cheaper forwards: Nikola Krstovic (6.3m, ATA) projects 3.9 → 3.1 → 3.8 on [H]FRC → [A]FIO → [H]PAR (10.8), the best total of any forward under 7.0m. Milutin Osmajic (4.5m, GEN) takes some of Genoa's penalties and projects 3.7 → 2.7 → 3.2 on [H]VEN → [H]JUV → [A]LEC, and at 0.82 points per million he is the best value in the position this week.
Tattico Matchday 8 captain picks
Captains score double in Tattico. Gleison Bremer (6.8m, JUV) ([A]LEC → [A]GEN → [H]NAP) is the captain pick at 5.5 projected points, the highest of the round. Juventus's 48% clean-sheet chance at Lecce is the best of Matchday 8, and Lecce average 0.73 expected goals in the fixture, the lowest of any team this week.
Nico Paz (10.5m, COM) ([H]SAS → [A]TOR → [H]VEN) is the alternative at 5.3. A defender's score rests mostly on the clean sheet, while Paz carries 0.42 projected goals and 0.21 projected assists, so his ceiling is higher if you prefer an attacker. Nuno Tavares (5.3) is the third option. The bookmaker view is on the Tattico market probabilities page.
Plan the armband across the next three rounds. On Matchday 9, Di Lorenzo and Wesley lead at 4.9, with Mancini at 4.8 and Bremer and Dimarco at 4.7. On Matchday 10, Juan Miranda (5.2) and Carnesecchi (5.0) lead, with Paz at 4.8. Owning Bremer plus Paz keeps you within 0.4 of the best captain score in each of the next three rounds.
Hidden gems and differentials for Matchday 8
We have no ownership data for Tattico, so these are picks most managers will overlook because of their price or club:
- Juan Miranda (4.9m, BOL): the top projection of Matchday 10 at 5.2, and 12.9 over three rounds. Program: [A]CGL → [A]MIL → [H]MON.
- Federico Bernardeschi (6.0m, BOL): Bologna's penalty taker, 12.4 over three rounds and never below 3.6. Program: [A]CGL → [A]MIL → [H]MON.
- Romano Floriani (4.6m, LAZ): the best points per million of any defender this week (1.07). Program: [H]PAR → [A]SAS → [H]CGL.
- Pierluigi Gollini (4.5m, ROM): the cheapest way into Roma's long run. Program: [A]NAP → [H]CGL → [A]UDI.
- Leo Østigard (4.9m, GEN): 4.3 against Venezia and 4.3 at Lecce, 11.9 over three rounds. Program: [H]VEN → [H]JUV → [A]LEC.
Before you commit to any of them, check their starts on the Tattico predicted lineups.
Who to sell before Matchday 8
Rasmus Højlund (9.5m, NAP) is the clearest sell. He is projected for 54 minutes, and Napoli's [H]ROM → [A]MON → [A]JUV gives him 2.6 → 2.9 → 2.4. Monza away on Matchday 9 is a decent fixture, with Napoli at 52% to win, but he projects only 2.9 in it. Why now: his best fixture of the window still leaves him under 3.0, and Juventus away follows. Kolo Muani projects 11.6 over the same three rounds for 2.3m less.
Nick Woltemade (9.0m, JUV) is the second sell. Juventus have one of the best programs in the game, and Lecce away is their strongest attacking fixture of the window at 2.02 expected goals, but he is projected for 33 minutes and 2.4 → 2.0 → 2.0. Why now: if he projects 2.4 in Juventus's best attacking fixture, the rest of the run will not change that, and the Juventus place is better spent on Kalulu or Kolo Muani.
If you still hold Lautaro Martinez (11.8m, INT), he is listed out until 17 November and projects zero for Matchdays 8 to 11. Inter's [H]FIO → [A]VEN → [A]MIL is the best attacking run in the game, so the problem is his availability, not the fixtures. Why now: four more rounds of zero, and Thuram gives you the same program. Paulo Dybala (9.0m, ROM) and Donyell Malen (10.4m, ROM) are both projected for about 30 minutes and neither tops 3.0 over the next three rounds. Gollini, Mancini or Matias Soulé (8.0m, 3.5 → 4.2 → 3.5) are the better ways into Roma's run.
Plan your Matchday 8 transfers
The typical move this week is a forward who is not playing out and Thuram or Kolo Muani in. If you already own those, use the transfer on Bremer, Paz or a Lazio defender for this three-round run, and keep Roma and Bologna in mind for Matchday 9. Check the solver's best squad for the next three rounds on the Tattico optimal teams page. More analysis is on our Tattico preview hub, and more strategy is in our fantasy guides.
