Tattico Serie A Matchday 10: captain picks, best buys
Tattico Serie A Matchday 10 preview: best buys, captain picks and differentials
Matchday 10 of Tattico Fantasy Serie A starts on Saturday 31 October, and it opens a three-week block that needs planning. Matchday 11 follows on 6-8 November, then there is a two-week gap before Matchday 12 on 21-23 November. A transfer made now has to carry you through Matchday 11 and the gap. So the programs below are the reason to move, and this round is only the moment you make the move.
Two big games shape the round: Milan - Inter and Juventus - Napoli. Como now have the best three-matchday attacking run in the game, Juventus the best defensive run, and Bologna the steadiest run of all. Atalanta and Lazio are the two sides whose great Matchday 10 hides a harder week behind it. Every number below comes from our model's current projections, and the full list is on the Tattico player picks page.
The programs: whose next three Matchdays are worth owning
All 20 clubs play once in each of Matchdays 10, 11 and 12, so there are no blanks or doubles to plan around and the three-matchday totals compare like for like. Como's [H]VEN → [A]INT → [H]CGL tops the game in attack at 5.49 expected goals. That is two very good fixtures and one hard one. The home game against Venezia is the best attacking fixture of the round (a 71% win probability and 2.56 expected goals), and Cagliari at home in Matchday 12 is almost as good. The trip to Inter is the week to plan around, not a reason to stay away.
Roma's [A]UDI → [H]SAS → [A]PAR is the more even run: 5.46 expected goals, second in the game, and 1.26 expected clean sheets, joint second. There is no hard fixture in it. Juventus ([H]NAP → [A]FIO → [H]VEN) have the best defensive run at 1.31 expected clean sheets, and the home game against Venezia in Matchday 12 is the high point. Bologna's [H]MON → [A]PAR → [H]UDI matches Roma at 1.26 expected clean sheets and has three decent fixtures in a row. That makes Bologna the team to buy and hold.
Inter sit third in attack at 5.18 despite starting at Milan, because Como at home and Atalanta away still add up well. Milan are the opposite case: the derby is their hardest week (a 28% win probability), then [A]GEN → [H]FRC is a clear step up. Napoli are similar. A 22% win probability at Juventus, then two home games against Lazio and Torino.
| Team | Matchday 10 | Win probability | Expected goals | Clean sheet | Program (MD10-12) | 3-matchday xG | 3-matchday CS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| COM | [H]VEN | 71% | 2.56 | 38% | [H]VEN → [A]INT → [H]CGL | 5.49 | 1.03 |

| ATA | [H]PAR | 66% | 2.04 | 45% | [H]PAR → [A]MON → [H]INT | 4.72 | 0.91 |
| BOL | [H]MON | 55% | 1.78 | 37% | [H]MON → [A]PAR → [H]UDI | 4.69 | 1.26 |
| LAZ | [H]CGL | 64% | 1.93 | 46% | [H]CGL → [A]NAP → [H]LEC | 4.38 | 1.16 |
| NAP | [A]JUV | 22% | 0.98 | 19% | [A]JUV → [H]LAZ → [H]TOR | 4.20 | 1.06 |
| CGL | [A]LAZ | 14% | 0.78 | 14% | [A]LAZ → [H]FRC → [A]COM | 2.89 | 0.59 |
| LEC | [H]GEN | 35% | 1.14 | 32% | [H]GEN → [A]TOR → [A]LAZ | 2.61 | 0.77 |
| PAR | [A]ATA | 13% | 0.80 | 13% | [A]ATA → [H]BOL → [H]ROM | 2.29 | 0.61 |
The "sell into" pair are Atalanta and Lazio. Atalanta host Parma with a 45% clean sheet chance and 2.04 expected goals, among the best numbers of the round. Then they go to Monza and host Inter, and their three-matchday total falls back to 4.72. Lazio host Cagliari with a 46% clean sheet chance, the best defensive number of Matchday 10, then go to Napoli. At the bottom, Parma (2.29 expected goals), Lecce (2.61) and Cagliari (2.89) have the weakest three-matchday attacks. Fixture dates are on the Tattico schedule, and the odds behind these numbers are on the market probabilities page. For how we turn odds into a fixture rating, see our fixture difficulty guide.
Matchday 10 best buys: goalkeepers
Guglielmo Vicario (6.1m, JUV) is the keeper to own for the block. His [H]NAP → [A]FIO → [H]VEN runs 4.3 → 4.3 → 5.2 for 13.8 points over three matchdays, the best in the position. His six-matchday weighted score of 16.4 also leads every goalkeeper. Juventus have the best clean sheet run in the game, so you can buy him and leave him alone.
Lukasz Skorupski (4.8m, BOL) is the value pick and a differential at his price. On [H]MON → [A]PAR → [H]UDI he projects 4.3 → 4.4 → 4.3. That makes 13.0 over three, second only to Vicario, and 1.3m cheaper. A flat program like that means you can hold him and stop thinking about the position through the gap.
Pierluigi Gollini (4.6m, ROM) is the cheapest good option at 4.4 → 4.0 → 4.0 (12.4) on [A]UDI → [H]SAS → [A]PAR. Watch the minutes, though. Mile Svilar is expected back on 6 November, which is Matchday 11. Our model still has Gollini in goal for now, but it is the one risk in an otherwise strong program.
This is where this round's ranking and the three-matchday ranking disagree. Marco Carnesecchi (5.5m, ATA) and Christos Mandas (5.3m, LAZ) share the top goalkeeper projection this round at 4.8. But Carnesecchi then drops to 3.8 at Monza and 3.2 against Inter (11.8 in total), while Vicario and Skorupski both beat that over three weeks. If you are buying one keeper and keeping him, buy Vicario or Skorupski. Mandas holds up better at 4.8 → 3.2 → 4.9 (12.9), with only the Napoli away game in the way. Alex Meret (5.1m, NAP) is a buy for next round: 3.2 at Juventus, then 4.4 and 4.5 at home to Lazio and Torino.
Matchday 10 best buys: defenders
Gleison Bremer (6.9m, JUV) has the best defender program in the game. [H]NAP → [A]FIO → [H]VEN gives 4.9 → 4.7 → 5.7, 15.3 over three, and 5.7 is the top defender projection of Matchday 12. His weighted six-matchday score of 17.8 is the highest of any player in the game, because Juventus keep strong defensive fixtures beyond Matchday 12 too. Pierre Kalulu (6.1m, JUV) is 0.8m cheaper at 4.7 → 4.6 → 5.6 (14.9). Jhon Lucumi (4.5m, JUV) is the budget way into the same defence at 4.3 → 4.2 → 5.0 (13.5). Pairing one of them with Vicario doubles up on the same clean sheets.
Juan Miranda (4.9m, BOL) is the best value defender for the block. On [H]MON → [A]PAR → [H]UDI he runs 5.2 → 4.9 → 4.9. That is 15.0 over three matchdays, second only to Bremer and 2.0m cheaper. His 0.18 expected assists this round is the attacking extra that lifts him above his teammates. Nadir Zortea (4.4m, BOL) is the cheaper Bologna option at 5.0 → 4.6 → 4.6 (14.2). That is the best three-matchday return per million of any defender, a budget pick you can hold.
Nuno Tavares (5.7m, LAZ) tops every player in the game this round at 5.6, at home to Cagliari with a 46% clean sheet chance. His program [H]CGL → [A]NAP → [H]LEC dips in the middle (5.6 → 3.4 → 5.5, 14.5 over three), but two very good home games make up for the Napoli trip. Romano Floriani (4.6m, LAZ) is the cheaper Lazio defender with the same shape: 5.2 → 3.1 → 5.1 (13.4).
Here the round and the program disagree again. Thomas Kristensen (4.7m, ATA) is second among defenders this round at 5.3 against Parma, but [A]MON → [H]INT drops him to 3.9 and 3.1, so his three-matchday total is only 12.3. Miranda costs 0.2m more and scores 2.7 more over the same three weeks. Kristensen is a one-round buy at most, and you would sell him again before Matchday 11. Kaiki (4.1m, COM) has the same problem with Inter away (5.1 → 2.9 → 5.1), and our predicted lineup gives him only 73 minutes this round. Check the Tattico predicted lineups before you commit.
Two defenders are buys for next round, not this one. Giovanni Di Lorenzo (5.6m, NAP) projects only 3.5 at Juventus. Then he projects 5.1 against Lazio, the top projection of any player in Matchday 11, and 5.3 against Torino. Strahinja Pavlovic (7.0m, MIL) has 3.5 in the derby, then 4.4 → 4.7 at Genoa and at home to Frosinone, with 13.1 more across Matchdays 13 to 15. Both are good targets once Matchday 10 is done.
Matchday 10 best buys: midfielders
Federico Bernardeschi (6.0m, BOL) has the best midfield program in the game: 4.7 → 3.9 → 4.3 on [H]MON → [A]PAR → [H]UDI. That is 12.9 over three matchdays, ahead of every midfielder however expensive. He is Bologna's penalty taker, and his 0.34 expected goals plus 0.22 expected assists this round is the best attacking output among Bologna's midfield. At 6.0m he is the clearest midfield buy of the round.
Matias Soulé (8.1m, ROM) is the mid-premium pick on [A]UDI → [H]SAS → [A]PAR, with 4.5 → 4.0 → 3.7 for 12.2, second in the position. Roma have no hard fixture in the block, which keeps his floor high.
Lucas Da Cunha (6.7m, COM) is the cheaper way into Como's attack. He is Como's penalty taker and shares the top midfield projection this round with Nico Paz at 4.9. His program [H]VEN → [A]INT → [H]CGL gives 4.9 → 3.0 → 3.7 (11.6). Nico Paz (10.6m, COM) runs 4.9 → 2.6 → 4.3 (11.8) on the same fixtures, so he scores only 0.2 more over three matchdays for 3.9m more. If you want Como midfield, Da Cunha is the better buy, and the money saved can go into Bremer or Malen.
Christian Pulisic (9.0m, MIL) is the premium whose program improves after this round: 3.8 in the derby, then 3.7 at Genoa and 4.4 at home to Frosinone (11.9, third in the position). He is Milan's penalty taker and projects 9.9 more across Matchdays 13 to 15. You can wait a round on him, since the derby is the weakest of his three weeks. But if you are buying now and holding through the gap, he is a safe one.
Mattia Zaccagni (5.8m, LAZ) fits the Lazio pattern: 4.8 → 2.8 → 3.8 (11.4) on [H]CGL → [A]NAP → [H]LEC. He is Lazio's penalty taker, and two of his three fixtures are very good.
The budget picks are both at Bologna and Atalanta. Lewis Ferguson (4.3m, BOL) projects 3.8 → 3.3 → 3.5 (10.6) on [H]MON → [A]PAR → [H]UDI with 84 predicted minutes, the best three-matchday return per million in midfield. Éderson (4.5m, ATA) is the alternative at 4.1 → 3.2 → 3.0 (10.3) on [H]PAR → [A]MON → [H]INT, with 85 predicted minutes. His best week is this one.
Hidden gems for Matchday 10
Franco Mastantuono (6.7m, FIO) is the midfielder few will look at. Fiorentina's [A]SAS → [H]JUV → [A]MON is not a headline program, but he is their penalty taker and projects 4.1 → 3.1 → 3.4 (10.6). He then adds 11.0 across Matchdays 13 to 15, more than Soulé or Da Cunha over the same weeks. Nicolo Cambiaghi (5.5m, BOL) is a cheaper way into Bologna's run at 4.2 → 3.5 → 3.8 (11.5), level with Da Cunha over three matchdays for 1.2m less.
Matchday 10 best buys: forwards
Donyell Malen (10.7m, ROM) is the forward to own. [A]UDI → [H]SAS → [A]PAR gives 4.5 → 4.2 → 3.6, a forward-best 12.3 over three matchdays. He is Roma's penalty taker, and his 0.58 expected goals this round is the highest of any player in the game. He is a premium you buy once and keep through the gap.
The round and the program disagree up front as well. Anastasios Douvikas (8.3m, COM) projects 4.8 against Venezia, the top forward number of Matchday 10, with 0.54 expected goals. His [H]VEN → [A]INT → [H]CGL then goes 2.7 at Inter and 3.9 against Cagliari, so 11.4 over three is 0.9 behind Malen. If you are making one forward move and keeping him, buy Malen. Douvikas is the pick if you want the bigger Matchday 10 ceiling and the Cagliari game behind it.
Randal Kolo Muani (7.2m, JUV) is the value forward. He is Juventus's penalty taker, and on [H]NAP → [A]FIO → [H]VEN he projects 3.9 → 3.2 → 4.0 for 11.1. That is third among forwards and costs 3.5m less than Malen. Goncalo Ramos (8.5m, MIL) follows Milan's rising program: 3.4 in the derby, then 3.3 and 4.3 (11.0). He adds 10.3 more across Matchdays 13 to 15, the second-best long run among forwards behind Marcus Thuram.
Marcus Thuram (10.8m, INT) is a hold rather than a buy. He projects 3.9 → 3.5 → 3.3 (10.7) on [A]MIL → [H]COM → [A]ATA, then 11.1 across Matchdays 13 to 15, the best long run of any forward. If you own him, keep him. If you don't, Malen gives you more over the next three weeks. Nikola Krstovic (6.5m, ATA) is a one-rounder at 4.2 against Parma, then 3.1 and 2.9.
Matchday 10 captain picks
Defenders top the projections this round, so the captaincy call is closer than usual. Nuno Tavares (5.7m, LAZ) has the highest projection of any player at 5.6 on [H]CGL → [A]NAP → [H]LEC, at home to Cagliari with a 46% clean sheet chance and 0.17 expected assists on top. He is the model's number one captain for Matchday 10. Juan Miranda (4.9m, BOL) is the steady alternative at 5.2, and his [H]MON → [A]PAR → [H]UDI makes him a hold for the next two weeks as well. If you prefer an attacker's ceiling, Lucas Da Cunha (6.7m, COM) and Douvikas lead the attacking options at 4.9 and 4.8 against Venezia, with Como's [H]VEN → [A]INT → [H]CGL behind them. Da Cunha has penalties, and Douvikas has the most expected goals of the pair.
Plan ahead as well. Di Lorenzo has the top projection of Matchday 11 at 5.1, and Bremer (5.7), Kalulu (5.6) and Tavares (5.5) top Matchday 12. A Juventus defender is the strongest captain path after the gap, which is one more reason to own Bremer now. For the reasoning behind captain choices, see our captaincy guide.
Who to sell before Matchday 10
Lautaro Martinez (11.4m, INT) is the clearest sell, and the time to do it is now. Inter's [A]MIL → [H]COM → [A]ATA does not matter here. He is out until 17 November, so he projects zero in Matchday 10 and zero in Matchday 11. When he returns after the gap, he projects only 2.1 in Matchday 12. Holding him means two blank weeks for the most expensive player in the game. Selling now moves that money straight into Malen.
Kenan Yildiz (6.4m, JUV) is out until 6 December and projects zero through Matchday 13, so Juventus's [H]NAP → [A]FIO → [H]VEN passes him by. There is no good week coming to sell into, so nothing is gained by waiting. Kolo Muani gives you Juventus attacking exposure for 0.8m more.
Paulo Dybala (8.7m, ROM) is expected back on 6 November, but he projects zero this round and only 1.8 and 2.4 on [H]SAS → [A]PAR after that. Roma's program is the best in the game, and Soulé or Malen are the ways to own it. Sell now: Roma's next three weeks are the best run in the game, and our model gives him only a small part in them.
Rasmus Højlund (9.5m, NAP) is a price call, not a fixture call. Napoli's run gets easier after this week. But on [A]JUV → [H]LAZ → [H]TOR he projects 2.6, 3.2 and 3.3, and he never goes above 3.6 in the next six matchdays. Kolo Muani out-scores him over the next three weeks (11.1 against 9.1) for 2.3m less. Matchday 10 is his weakest week, so if you sell, sell before it. If you have bigger problems to fix first, you can wait a round on this one.
The Atalanta assets (Kristensen, Carnesecchi, Krstovic) are not sells this week. Parma at home is one of the best fixtures of the round. They become sells after Matchday 10, when Monza away and Inter at home arrive. For a full squad built for this round, see the Tattico optimal teams. Last round's picks are in our Tattico Serie A Matchday 9 preview, and every round is collected on the Tattico preview hub.
