RSL Fantasy Gameweek 14: captain picks and best buys

RSL Fantasy Gameweek 14 tips: best buys, captain picks and differentials

RSL Fantasy Gameweek 14 is the first round of Saudi Pro League football since the league postponed the whole of Matchday 13 on 3 November. All nine Gameweek 14 matches are listed in our schedule for 20 November, so every club plays once. The transfers you make now are the first real decisions in almost three weeks, and the reason to make them sits in the run behind this round: Al Hilal own the best three-gameweek program in the game, Al Qadasiya's run turns sharply after a hard Gameweek 14, and Al Kholood and Abha carry an extra fixture in Gameweek 16.

Below: the next-three programs, the best buys by position, the captain plan for Gameweeks 14 to 16, the differentials and the sells. Every number comes from our model. The full player table is on the RSL Fantasy player picks page.

RSL Fantasy Gameweek 14 schedule: what is confirmed and what is not

Three things in the schedule are still provisional, and none of them should be planned around blindly.

RSL Fantasy Gameweek 14 to 16: whose programs are worth owning

Al Hilal's [H]DIR → [A]KLD → [H]ABH is the best run in the game by a distance: 8.28 expected goals and 1.57 expected clean sheets across three gameweeks, both first in the league. The Gameweek 14 home game against Al Diriyah is also the single best fixture of the round, with an 87% win probability, 3.03 expected goals and a 61% clean sheet chance. The trip to Al Kholood in Gameweek 15 is the softest of the three weeks, and still a fixture Al Hilal are favoured in.

Al Nassr ([H]QAD → [H]SHB → [A]FYH, 7.04 expected goals) and Al Ahli ([H]FSL → [A]ITT → [H]ETT, 1.14 expected clean sheets) are next. Al Ahli's run is the defensive one: two home games against sides from the bottom half of the attack ranking.

Al Qadasiya are the program that changes most. Their Gameweek 14 trip to Al Nassr is hard, a 23% win probability, but [H]FAT → [A]HAZ behind it lifts them to third on 3-round expected goals at 6.03. That is the case for holding their players through Gameweek 14, not for selling them.

Al Kholood and Abha both show four fixtures. Their 3-round totals (4.69 and 4.59 expected goals) are four-game totals, not three, so they are not directly comparable with the rest of the table. At the bottom, Al Diriyah's [A]HIL → [H]FYH → [A]KLJ is worth 2.31 expected goals, the weakest attack in the window.

The table is sorted on 3-round expected goals. For the bookmaker-derived inputs behind these numbers, see the RSL Fantasy market probabilities.

Best RSL Fantasy goalkeepers for Gameweek 14

Yassine Bounou (5.5m, HIL) is the premium pick and the safest one. His program is [H]DIR → [A]KLD → [H]ABH, the 61% clean sheet chance in Gameweek 14 is the best of the round, and he projects 5.6 → 4.9 → 4.9, 15.4 points over three gameweeks. That is the top goalkeeper total in the game. At 31.6% ownership he protects rank rather than gaining it.

Hamed Al-Shanqiti (4.0m, KLD) is the value pick, and the reason is entirely Gameweek 16. His program is [A]NEO → [H]HIL → [A]FAT + [A]ABH, and he projects 3.6 → 3.0 → 7.2. The first two weeks are modest. There is no rush to buy him in Gameweek 14: you can wait a round and bring him in before Gameweek 16, as long as that double is still on the schedule.

Orlando Mosquera (5.0m, FYH) is the differential at 1.7% ownership. Al-Fayha's [H]FAT → [A]DIR → [H]NAS gives him two winnable games first, 4.4 → 4.8 → 3.4, and his 12.6 points over three gameweeks are fourth among goalkeepers.

Best RSL Fantasy defenders for Gameweek 14

Kalidou Koulibaly (5.0m, HIL) is the joint-best defender in the game this round and the best over the next three. He projects 7.2 → 6.1 → 6.0 on [H]DIR → [A]KLD → [H]ABH, 19.3 points, and at 5.0m that is 1.44 points per million in Gameweek 14, the best of any defender priced above 4.5m. Theo Hernández (6.3m, HIL) matches his 7.2 in Gameweek 14 and follows with 5.6 and 5.4 (18.2 in total), and Mohammed Mahzari (5.3m, HIL) projects 6.5 → 5.4 → 5.3. RSL Fantasy allows three players per club, so most managers can fit only one or two Al Hilal defenders next to an Al Hilal attacker. Koulibaly is the one to pick first.

Roger Ibanez (6.5m, AHL) is the hold-and-forget option. Al Ahli's [H]FSL → [A]ITT → [H]ETT gives him 6.4 → 5.1 → 5.6 (17.1), and his projection stays at 5.4 and 6.5 in Gameweeks 17 and 18. A flat, good trajectory is exactly what lets you stop thinking about a defender slot.

Marin Petkov (5.0m, TWN) is a strong Gameweek 14 pick at 6.9 against [H]ABH, the third-best defender score of the round, but [A]NEO → [H]FSL behind it drops him to 4.6 and 4.9. Seydouba Cisse (4.5m, KLD) is the opposite: 4.5 → 3.9 → 8.8 across [A]NEO → [H]HIL → [A]FAT + [A]ABH. Petkov out-scores Cisse this week, but Cisse has more over the three gameweeks (17.2 against 16.4) and is 0.5m cheaper. If you are buying one and keeping him, buy Cisse; if you want points this week only, Petkov.

Andrei Girotto (4.7m, FSL) is the budget defender with the steadiest run. Al-Faisaly's [A]AHL → [H]KLJ → [A]TWN gives him 4.6 → 6.2 → 4.9, and [H]RIY in Gameweek 17 holds at 6.2. At 12.1% ownership he is a quiet way to free money for the attack.

Best RSL Fantasy midfielders for Gameweek 14

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (9.6m, HIL) is the top-scoring midfielder of Gameweek 14 and second only to Quinones over the next three. He projects 8.1 → 6.5 → 7.0 on [H]DIR → [A]KLD → [H]ABH, 21.6 points, with 1.06 expected goals and 0.74 expected assists across the three. He is owned by only 12.1% of managers, against 37.6% for Crysencio Summerville (8.6m, HIL), who projects 7.6 → 5.9 → 6.5 (20.0). Both are good picks; Milinkovic-Savic is the one that separates you from the field.

Julian Quinones (12.0m, QAD) is the midfielder with the best long horizon and the clearest example of the round and the program disagreeing. Gameweek 14 at [A]NAS is his soft week at 5.5, but [H]FAT → [A]HAZ → [H]KLJ behind it is 8.7 → 7.9 → 8.3, and his weighted six-gameweek score of 27.1 is the highest of any midfielder. If you already own him, keep him through Gameweek 14. If you do not, you can wait a round on this one: his program turns in Gameweek 15, not now.

Joao Félix (10.6m, NAS) is a hold for his 38.4% of owners: [H]QAD → [H]SHB → [A]FYH gives 6.0 → 7.3 → 5.5. Sadio Mané (9.0m, NAS) is the cheaper Al Nassr route into the same [H]QAD → [H]SHB → [A]FYH program, 5.6 → 6.9 → 4.9 (17.4), at 8.8% ownership.

Mourad Batna (7.4m, FAT) is the mid-price differential. He is Al Fateh's penalty taker, owned by 7.4%, and his projection climbs after Gameweek 15: [A]FYH → [A]QAD → [H]KLD → [A]ABH gives 5.2 → 4.3 → 6.0 → 6.2.

For a budget midfielder, Iker Kortajarena (5.3m, KLD) is the Gameweek 16 play: 3.8 → 3.2 → 7.8 across [A]NEO → [H]HIL → [A]FAT + [A]ABH. Like Al-Shanqiti, he is a buy before Gameweek 16 rather than a must-have for Gameweek 14.

Best RSL Fantasy forwards for Gameweek 14

Ollie Watkins (10.3m, HIL) is the best player in RSL Fantasy for the next three gameweeks. He projects 8.7 → 6.7 → 8.4 on [H]DIR → [A]KLD → [H]ABH, 23.8 points with 1.94 expected goals, and his weighted six-gameweek score of 28.9 is the highest in the game. Our schedule also shows Al Hilal twice in Gameweek 18, where he projects 12.8, though that double is provisional too. He is owned by 26.1%: if you do not have him, he is the transfer of the round.

Cristiano Ronaldo (12.6m, NAS) is the other premium. Al Nassr's penalty taker projects 6.7 → 8.2 → 6.7 on [H]QAD → [H]SHB → [A]FYH, 21.6 points with 1.82 expected goals, and he is the second-best captain option for Gameweek 15.

Abderrazak Hamdallah (7.9m, TWN) takes Al-Taawoun's penalties and has the second-best Gameweek 14 score of any forward, 6.8 against [H]ABH, behind only Watkins. [A]NEO → [H]FSL behind it is 4.5 → 4.9, so he is a strong one-week option rather than a long hold. Alexandre Lacazette (7.5m, NEO) covers the same price on [H]KLD → [H]TWN → [A]SHB, 6.0 → 5.7 → 4.6, and is a reasonable hold for his 27.4% of owners.

Two cheaper options. Julien Domingues (6.2m, KLD) is the Gameweek 16 forward: 3.8 → 3.1 → 7.9 on [A]NEO → [H]HIL → [A]FAT + [A]ABH. Afimico Pululu (5.2m, HAZ) is the budget forward with the most even run, 4.5 → 4.7 → 4.1 on [A]RIY → [A]ETT → [H]QAD, at 1.6% ownership.

Best RSL Fantasy captain picks for Gameweek 14

  1. Ollie Watkins (10.3m, HIL): 8.7 projected points against [H]DIR, the highest of the round, and [A]KLD → [H]ABH behind it keeps him the captain to plan around.
  2. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (9.6m, HIL): 8.1 on the same [H]DIR → [A]KLD → [H]ABH run, and a lower-owned alternative.
  3. Crysencio Summerville (8.6m, HIL): 7.6 on the same program, the safe option for the managers who own him rather than Milinkovic-Savic.

The captain plan for the next two gameweeks shapes which premiums to own. In Gameweek 15 the top projections are Quinones (8.7 against [H]FAT) and Ronaldo (8.2 against [H]SHB); in Gameweek 16 it is Watkins again (8.4 against [H]ABH). A squad with Watkins plus one of Quinones or Ronaldo has a strong captain in each of the three gameweeks. Our RSL Fantasy optimal teams page solves the best squad for any horizon live.

RSL Fantasy Gameweek 14 sells and holds

Sell Ivan Toney (12.2m, AHL), owned by 47.5%. This is not about Al Ahli's fixtures: [H]FSL → [A]ITT → [H]ETT is a decent run and his 5.4 → 5.6 → 6.4 is respectable. The case is the comparison. Watkins costs 1.9m less and projects 6.4 more over the same three gameweeks, and the gap is widest right now, 8.7 against 5.4 in Gameweek 14. Toney is also projected for 69 minutes this week against 81 for Watkins. Why now: Watkins' best week is the first one, so the swap pays from the opening match.

Sell George Ilenikhena (5.0m, ITT), owned by 33.5%. He projects 59 minutes in Gameweek 14 and 3.6 → 3.2 → 3.2 on [A]KLJ → [H]AHL → [A]RIY, 10.0 points in total. Pululu (13.3) and Abdullah Al Hamddan (4.8m, NAS, 13.1) are both more for the same money. Nothing in Al Ittihad's program collapses, so this one can wait a round if you have more urgent moves; it is simply a cheap upgrade whenever a transfer is spare.

Sell Nacho Fernandez (5.5m, QAD), owned by 33.8%. He is projected for only 25 minutes in Gameweek 14, which gives him 0.8 points, and 0.8 → 4.2 → 2.3 across [A]NAS → [H]FAT → [A]HAZ. Why now: the minutes drop lands in this gameweek. Cisse at 4.5m is the like-for-like replacement with the better run.

Hold Mohammed Abu Al Shamat (7.1m, QAD), the most-owned player in the game at 48.4%. Gameweek 14 at [A]NAS is his low point at 3.9, but [H]FAT → [A]HAZ → [H]KLJ behind it projects 6.1 → 4.6 → 5.8. Selling him now sells the one bad week and misses the good ones.

Hold Ruben Neves (9.2m, HIL), owned by 35.8%. Our model has him missing Gameweek 14 at [H]DIR and back at 79 projected minutes for [A]KLD in Gameweek 15, then 6.6 against [H]ABH. If you own him, bench him for one week rather than spend a transfer. Check the RSL Fantasy predicted lineups before the deadline, since team news after the break can move this.

RSL Fantasy Gameweek 14 differentials

The differentials worth the risk this round: Milinkovic-Savic (12.1%) as the low-owned route into Al Hilal's program, Mosquera (1.7%) in goal, Cisse (0.5%) and Girotto (12.1%) in defence, Batna (7.4%) in midfield and Pululu (1.6%) up front. Each one carries a program, not just a fixture. For a full squad built around them, try RSL Fantasy transfer suggestions. FAQ

Ollie Watkins is the top captain pick for Gameweek 14 with 8.7 projected points against Al Diriyah at home, where Al Hilal have an 87% win probability. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (8.1) and Crysencio Summerville (7.6) from the same side are the alternatives.

Which budget defenders are best for RSL Fantasy Gameweek 14?

Seydouba Cisse (4.5m, Al Kholood) is the best budget defender over the next three gameweeks with 17.2 projected points, most of it in Gameweek 16, where Al Kholood are scheduled to play twice. Andrei Girotto (4.7m, Al-Faisaly) is the steadier option at 4.6 → 6.2 → 4.9, and Kalidou Koulibaly (5.0m, Al Hilal) is the best defender over the three gameweeks at 19.3.

Should I sell Ivan Toney before Gameweek 14?

Yes, if you can move to Ollie Watkins. Watkins is 1.9m cheaper, projects 8.7 against Toney's 5.4 in Gameweek 14 and 23.8 against 17.4 over Gameweeks 14 to 16. Al Ahli's fixtures are fine; the sale is about the better player costing less.

Have the postponed RSL Fantasy Gameweek 13 matches been rescheduled?

Not yet. The postponed Matchday 13 fixtures have no new dates in our schedule. When they are placed, any extra fixtures will appear on the RSL Fantasy schedule and the projections will update. Gameweek 14 itself goes ahead with all nine matches listed for 20 November.

Which teams have the best fixtures for RSL Fantasy Gameweeks 14 to 16?

Al Hilal have the best run: [H]DIR → [A]KLD → [H]ABH, worth 8.28 expected goals and 1.57 expected clean sheets. Al Nassr (7.04 expected goals) and Al Ahli (1.14 expected clean sheets) are next, and Al Qadasiya's program improves sharply after Gameweek 14.
