Liga Manager Runde 11: captain picks and best buys
Liga Manager Runde 11 preview: best buys, captain picks and who to sell
Liga Manager Runde 11 is the last round before the international break, and Runde 12 does not start until 20 November. The transfers you make before Friday's deadline therefore have to carry your team through two rounds of play and a long pause, so this is a decision about programs, not about one weekend. Real Madrid's trip to Valencia is the best single fixture of the round, but the clubs worth owning are the ones whose next three rounds hold up: Barcelona for goals, Athletic Club for clean sheets and Real Sociedad for a balance of both.
Below you get the best buys by position, the captain plan for Runde 11 to 13, the hidden gems the template has ignored and the players to sell now. Every number comes from our model; the full ranking is on the Liga Manager player picks page, and last round's thinking is in the Liga Manager Runde 10 preview.
Liga Manager Runde 11 fixtures: the programs worth owning
Barcelona have the strongest attacking program in the game. Their run of [A]ATM → [H]VIL → [A]COR adds up to 6.20 expected goals, clearly ahead of Real Madrid's 5.54 on [A]VAL → [H]CEL → [H]ALA. There is no weak link in it: each of the three games carries between 1.95 and 2.20 expected goals and a win probability of roughly 50% or better, with the Deportivo La Coruna trip in Runde 13 the likeliest win at 59%. Defensively, Athletic Club's [A]OSA → [H]ESP → [A]MAL is the run to own: 1.20 expected clean sheets over three rounds, the most of any club.
| Team | Runde 11 | Win probability | Expected goals | Clean sheet | Program (Runde 11-13) | 3-round xG | 3-round CS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Barcelona | [A]ATM | 53% | 2.20 | 22% | [A]ATM → [H]VIL → [A]COR | 6.20 | 0.81 |
| Real Madrid | [A]VAL | 72% | 2.54 | 39% | [A]VAL → [H]CEL → [H]ALA | 5.54 | 1.00 |
| Levante | [A]CEL | 20% | 1.01 | 17% | [A]CEL → [H]ELC → [H]SAN | 4.80 | 0.97 |
| Villarreal | [H]GET | 65% | 2.00 | 46% | [H]GET → [A]BAR → [A]CEL | 4.68 | 0.84 |
| Real Sociedad | [H]RAY | 54% | 1.87 | 33% | [H]RAY → [A]SAN → [H]SEV | 4.64 | 1.07 |
| Celta Vigo | [H]LEV | 55% | 1.79 | 36% | [H]LEV → [A]RMA → [H]VIL | 4.39 | 0.88 |
| Real Betis | [A]ELC | 44% | 1.65 | 26% | [A]ELC → [A]SEV → [H]RAY | 4.25 | 0.72 |
| Athletic Club | [A]OSA | 43% | 1.42 | 32% | [A]OSA → [H]ESP → [A]MAL | 4.12 | 1.20 |
Two programs in that table are lopsided, and they decide when to buy rather than whether. Levante have the third-best three-round attack at 4.80 expected goals, but nearly all of it comes in Runde 12 and 13 at home to Elche and Racing Santander; the Runde 11 trip to Celta Vigo is worth only 1.01. That makes Levante a Runde 12 target, not a Runde 11 one. Celta Vigo are the mirror image: [H]LEV is a 55% win and 1.79 expected goals this round, then [A]RMA follows, so Celta players are one-round rotation picks. Villarreal have the best clean-sheet chance of the round at 46% against Getafe, but [A]BAR → [A]CEL behind it makes them a one-rounder as well.
At the other end of the table, Getafe (2.63) and Deportivo La Coruna (2.68) have the weakest three-round attacks, and Deportivo La Coruna's 0.56 expected clean sheets are the fewest in the game, with Racing Santander's 0.59 next. That matters because several Deportivo La Coruna players are among the most owned in Liga Manager, which is where the sell section starts. The full fixture list is on the Liga Manager schedule.
| Team | Runde 11 | Win probability | Expected goals | Clean sheet | Program (Runde 11-13) | 3-round xG | 3-round CS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Racing Santander | [A]MAL | 34% | 1.43 | 21% | [A]MAL → [H]RSO → [A]LEV | 3.07 | 0.59 |
| Malaga | [H]SAN | 40% | 1.56 | 24% | [H]SAN → [A]OSA → [H]ATH | 2.84 | 0.66 |
| Deportivo La Coruna | [A]ESP | 28% | 1.14 | 23% | [A]ESP → [A]ALA → [H]BAR | 2.68 | 0.56 |
| Getafe | [A]VIL | 13% | 0.78 | 14% | [A]VIL → [H]ATM → [A]ESP | 2.63 | 0.98 |
Best goalkeepers for Liga Manager Runde 11
This round and the three-round view disagree on the keepers. Thibaut Courtois has the highest projection of the round at 76k thanks to Real Madrid's 39% clean-sheet chance in Valencia, but he is projected for 75 minutes and drops to 48k and 53k after it. Over Runde 11 to 13 the order is Unai Simon, Alex Remiro and Mathew Ryan, and if you are buying one keeper to keep, buy from that list.
Unai Simon (5.2m, ATH) is the hold. His program is [A]OSA → [H]ESP → [A]MAL, worth 65k → 62k → 82k and 208k over three rounds, the most of any keeper. The run continues with [H]RMA (66k) and [A]COR (80k) in Runde 14 and 15, so this is a flat program you can hold and stop thinking about. He is already in 20.2% of teams.
Alex Remiro (4.5m, RSO) is the cheaper route into a strong defensive run: [H]RAY → [A]SAN → [H]SEV gives 66k → 70k → 60k, 196k in total, on a Real Sociedad side with 1.07 expected clean sheets. He drops to 38k at Villarreal in Runde 14, so plan to review him after Runde 13.
The budget pick is Ángel Fortuno (3.0m, ESP). Espanyol's [H]COR → [A]ATH → [H]GET is worth 1.09 expected clean sheets, the second most in the game, and Fortuno projects 59k → 51k → 64k. At 19.5k per million he is the best value keeper of the round, and only 0.6% own him. Check the Liga Manager predicted lineups before the deadline: our lineups have him as Espanyol's starter.
Two keepers are worth planning for rather than buying today. Mathew Ryan (3.5m, LEV) projects only 41k at Celta Vigo, then 66k → 87k on Levante's [A]CEL → [H]ELC → [H]SAN, so he is a Runde 12 buy. Odisseas Vlachodimos (4.1m, SEV) runs [H]ALA → [H]BET → [A]RSO for 62k → 61k → 48k, and then jumps to 85k at home to Malaga in Runde 14; he is the keeper for a manager planning past the break.
Best defenders for Liga Manager Runde 11
Real Madrid's defenders rank third to fifth this round, with Ibrahima Konaté on 75k at Valencia, but over three rounds Sergio Gomez, Yuri Berchiche and Jon Martin all out-score them. Ibrahima Konaté falls to 34k and 38k after Runde 11. If you want a Real Madrid defender for this round only, his 49k fee is the price of that one fixture; if you want a defender to keep, look at the two clubs below.
Real Sociedad first. Sergio Gomez (3.8m, RSO) goes 62k → 59k → 50k on [H]RAY → [A]SAN → [H]SEV, and adds 0.18 expected assists this round on top of a 33% clean-sheet chance. Jon Martin (4.0m, RSO) follows the same program for 58k → 57k → 48k. Both are under 2% owned, and both are three-round holds: Real Sociedad visit Villarreal in Runde 14, where they drop to 25k and 23k, so Runde 14 is the round to sell them again.
Athletic Club are the durable option. Yuri Berchiche (4.5m, ATH) projects 52k → 47k → 66k on [A]OSA → [H]ESP → [A]MAL, and keeps going at 53k and 56k in Runde 14 and 15. The hidden gem is Hugo Rincon (3.1m, ATH): 49k → 43k → 60k at 0.3% ownership. Aymeric Laporte is the Athletic defender most managers own (14.9%), but he is projected for 60 minutes against 82 for Hugo Rincon, which is why the cheaper man out-scores him over the three rounds. Remember the club limit of four: Unai Simon, a defender and both Williams brothers already fill it.
For one round only, Celta Vigo are the play. Marcos Alonso (3.7m, CEL) has the top defender projection of Runde 11 at 90k against Levante, helped by being Celta's penalty taker, and Javi Rueda (3.2m, CEL) follows on 79k. Their program [H]LEV → [A]RMA → [H]VIL is front-loaded: Marcos Alonso goes 90k → 51k → 45k. He still tops the three-round defender table at 186k, but almost half of that is this round, so treat him as a one-round buy with a 37k fee and sell again before Runde 12 if a Levante or Athletic defender is the better hold.
Sevilla's back line is the longer-term play. Kike Salas (3.8m, SEV), Juan Iglesias and Gabriel Suazo all project around 53k in each of the next two rounds on [H]ALA → [H]BET, with a 36% clean-sheet chance this round. The dip comes at Real Sociedad in Runde 13 (35k), and then [H]MAL in Runde 14 is worth 78k for Kike Salas. At 0.7% ownership he is a quiet hold for the break.
Best midfielders for Liga Manager Runde 11
Lamine Yamal (12.3m, BAR) is the premium to own. On Barcelona's [A]ATM → [H]VIL → [A]COR he projects 135k → 120k → 127k, 383k over three rounds, and he stays above 100k in every round through Runde 16. Raphinha (11.5m, BAR) is close behind at 131k → 114k → 119k and takes Barcelona's penalties, but he is projected for 63 minutes this round against 84 for Lamine Yamal. If you can only fit one, Lamine Yamal is the safer one; every midfielder's three-round total is on the player picks page. Anthony Gordon, in 39.1% of teams, is a comfortable hold at 81k → 64k → 82k on the same program.
Here the round and the program disagree again. Jude Bellingham (104k) and Yan Diomande (101k) are third and fourth among midfielders this round, but both drop to around 50k after Valencia. Over three rounds Inaki Williams (5.7m, ATH) beats them both at 239k: 79k → 70k → 91k on [A]OSA → [H]ESP → [A]MAL, and then 97k at home to Real Madrid in Runde 14. His trajectory is rising, he costs less than either Real Madrid midfielder, and only 4.4% own him. If you are buying one midfielder and keeping him, buy Inaki Williams.
Nico Williams (5.8m, ATH) brings the same [A]OSA → [H]ESP → [A]MAL program for 83k → 61k → 82k and 86k in Runde 14. Alex Berenguer (4.5m, ATH) is the cheaper Athletic route at 63k → 54k → 74k → 76k, and Peio Canales (3.1m, ATH) at 52k → 43k → 59k is the budget version at 1.7% ownership.
The biggest differential in the position is Goncalo Guedes (6.2m, RSO). Real Sociedad's [H]RAY → [A]SAN → [H]SEV gives him 82k → 71k → 62k, 215k in total, and only 0.4% own him. Like the Real Sociedad defenders, he is a three-round hold who falls away from Runde 14.
The budget midfielder is Lucas Cepeda (2.8m, ELC), Elche's penalty taker. He projects 65k → 55k → 60k on [H]BET → [A]LEV → [H]ATM, the second-best points per million among midfielders this round at 22.7k per million, and he holds that level for all three rounds. Malaga's David Larrubia (2.9m) has a better Runde 11 at 74k against Racing Santander, but he drops to 16k at Osasuna, so he is a one-round pick only.
Two midfielders are Runde 12 buys. Arnaut Danjuma (3.6m, VAL) projects 38k with Real Madrid visiting, then 66k → 109k on [A]RAY → [H]OSA. Roger Brugué (4.0m, LEV) follows Levante's curve: 34k at Celta Vigo, then 72k → 99k at home to Elche and Racing Santander. Leave both out now and bring them in for Runde 12, when their good run starts.
Best forwards for Liga Manager Runde 11
Kylian Mbappé, owned by 40.4%, is the hold of the round with 224k at Valencia. He falls to 105k and 103k after it, but no forward comes close over the three rounds either, at 431k.
The forward to buy is Orri Oskarsson (6.1m, RSO). Real Sociedad's [H]RAY → [A]SAN → [H]SEV gives him 102k → 76k → 75k, 253k in total, the second-best forward over three rounds behind Kylian Mbappé and ahead of his own team-mate Mikel Oyarzabal (245k), at 2.2m less. He has 0.42 expected goals this round and only 4.8% own him. Mikel Oyarzabal (8.2m, RSO) is Real Sociedad's penalty taker and projects 103k → 82k → 60k; he is fine to keep if you own him, but Orri Oskarsson is the better buy.
The budget gem is Lucas Stassin (3.3m, SEV), on Sevilla's [H]ALA → [H]BET → [A]RSO for 72k → 68k → 46k and then 89k at home to Malaga in Runde 14. Only 0.4% own him. His team-mate Isaac Romero (3.5m, 7.2% owned) lands at almost the same three-round total (184k against 186k) but with a weaker Runde 11, so the cheaper man is the buy.
Roberto Fernández (5.5m, ESP) is the mid-price option: 87k → 50k → 60k on [H]COR → [A]ATH → [H]GET, with 0.42 expected goals against Deportivo La Coruna this round. For one round only, Adrián Nino (3.1m, MAL) has the best points per million in the whole game at 29.8k per million: 91k at home to Racing Santander. His program [H]SAN → [A]OSA → [H]ATH then collapses to 18k and 25k, so buy him for Runde 11 and sell again before Runde 12; the fee is 31k.
The round and the program disagree most in this position. Adrián Nino's 91k beats Ivan Romero (4.5m, LEV) by 48k this round, but over three rounds Ivan Romero has 235k against 134k, on 43k → 91k → 101k with Levante's [A]CEL → [H]ELC → [H]SAN. Lucas Boye (6.4m, ALA) peaks at 107k at home to Deportivo La Coruna in Runde 12 on [A]SEV → [H]COR → [A]RMA. Both are Runde 12 buys; for this round, Adrián Nino is the stop-gap.
Liga Manager Runde 11 captain picks
The captain scores double in Liga Manager, and the choice this round is clear. Kylian Mbappé (16.3m, RMA) projects 224k at Valencia, 89k more than anybody else. Real Madrid have a 72% win probability and 2.54 expected goals, the best numbers of the round, and Kylian Mbappé carries 0.92 expected goals of that as Real Madrid's penalty taker. His program [A]VAL → [H]CEL → [H]ALA keeps him above 100k in every round.
The alternatives are Lamine Yamal (12.3m, BAR) on 135k and Raphinha (11.5m, BAR) on 131k, both on Barcelona's [A]ATM → [H]VIL → [A]COR. Neither is close this round, but they matter for the plan. In Runde 12 Lamine Yamal and Ante Budimir share the top projection at 120k, with Raphinha on 114k and Kylian Mbappé on 105k; in Runde 13 Lamine Yamal leads again at 127k. So the captaincy runs Kylian Mbappé now and Lamine Yamal for the two rounds after the break. That is the real case for owning both premiums. Ante Budimir (8.1m, OSA) is a differential captain for Runde 12 only: 120k at home to Malaga, but 66k this round and 30k in Runde 13.

Who to sell before Liga Manager Runde 11
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (4.5m, COR) is the clearest sale. He is in 30.9% of teams, yet he is projected for only 17 minutes against Espanyol and 23k → 2k → 7k over Deportivo La Coruna's [A]ESP → [A]ALA → [H]BAR. Why now: nothing in the program lifts him, and his 4.5m funds most of the move to Orri Oskarsson.
Deportivo La Coruna's defence follows. Leo Román (3.3m, COR) is owned by 19.0% and Ximo Navarro (2.1m, COR) by 22.5%. The Espanyol trip is not a bad fixture, and Leo Román's 47k there is a fair return. The problem is what follows: 30k and 29k on [A]ALA → [H]BAR, the end of the program with the fewest expected clean sheets in the game. Why now: Ángel Fortuno costs less and already out-scores him in Runde 11 (59k), so there is nothing to wait for. Ximo Navarro projects 26k → 7k → 10k over the same [A]ESP → [A]ALA → [H]BAR.
Yassir Zabiri (3.8m, SAN) is the sell into a decent fixture. He is in 15.7% of teams, and 60k at Malaga is a respectable score; this is not a bad week for him. But Racing Santander's [A]MAL → [H]RSO → [A]LEV takes him to 19k and then 10k. Why now: Lucas Stassin is cheaper and projects 72k this round, so the swap gains points in Runde 11 as well as after it.
The Atletico Madrid attack is a minutes problem rather than a fixture problem. Álex Baena (5.8m, ATM), owned by 16.7%, is projected for 53 minutes and 36k → 24k → 34k; Julián Álvarez (8.4m, ATM) is projected for 34 minutes and 33k → 23k → 30k over [H]BAR → [A]GET → [A]ELC. Why now: selling Julián Álvarez for Orri Oskarsson frees 2.4m and adds 69k this round alone.
One popular player you can wait on: Karim Adeyemi (4.9m, BAR), owned by 29.5%, projects 63k → 47k → 52k on 46 minutes. That is not a sell yet, so you can wait a round on this one; if you need the slot, Inaki Williams is the upgrade.
