FPL GW35

Beach weather

European weather is amazing and we are soon approaching the part of the season where team are "on the beach". The picture is not fully clear yet, but we do have indications that the CL race for United can end early, some mid table teams can fend off relegation and not be able to reach European spots soon, the title race will likely go down to the last day and Wolves and Burnley are obviously already relegated.

This will affect my decision making this GW, as there is a risk certain players will be protected for the World Cup or just not invest fully into the games. Chelsea are one of the teams that almost definitely will have to fight until the end, which makes me keen to keep their players.

That said, if we don't consider "beaching" too much, it is natural to look at Bruno and Gabriel this gameweek if you have room for that in your transfer bank. City must be tripled next GW, and Palace players will be of high value too. The problem with Palace players is that they likely need to be transferred out again in GW37, which means the more FTs you have available the higher you can prioritize the Palace players.

Most of the WC32 picks are either good this week or next week - Leeds, Bournemouth, Chelsea all look great this weekend while City and Brighton look amazing next week. With the beaching probabilities I would try and keep all these players this gameweek as the players most in doubt here (Chelsea and Brighton) are the most likely teams to fight until the end of the season.

Only Bruno and Gabriel are considerations if you ask me.

Team selection

Main concerns for my team is whether to:

1) Get Bruno

2) Get Gabriel

I've decided to not go for either, as the underlyings, especially xG, of Bruno has not been up to his standards from early in the season, and he is not very likely to DEFCON in his new position as AM. At the same time, the probability of United being on the beach sooner than other teams makes me prefer going for heavy investment in the doublers (Crystal Palace) next GW and having the option to invest freely in 37.

Arsenal are looking more shaky defensively than previously this season too (still good!), but the defenders in my team this gameweek are already decent, so I find the gains marginal for this GW in isolation. Gabriel hasn't shown much offensive threat for a while either.

Kind of terrible not to make those moves, as I will be in the stadium for both of the games this weekend!

In GW37 I could go for things such as double Arsenal defense, Bruno G, Arsenal attackers or other interesting options.

Haaland will captain my team this GW.
