FPL GW27

A very quiet week

On the back of a double game week and FA Cup results, my anticipation would be, that I would have a lot to write about. The fact is, that there is very little conclusive new information.

Firstly, most managers got unscathed (injury-wise) through the double gameweek, which means no apparent sells, as most popular assets have good fixtures.

Secondly, Burnley was the only Premier League team to leave the FA Cup and send a lower league team through to the next round, and the draw means that all fixtures in GW34 are still possible blanks and therefore potentially move to a double gameweek, most likely in GW33.

Haaland is also passed fit and seen in training, which eliminates what we thought could be a potential problem.

Essentially, this means dead-ending into GW31, WC32, BB33, FH34 is still the meta strategy, and probably even more now that a bigger double is more likely and we have low certainty of how it unfolds. That is also my "base plan", but I will try to stay flexible by accumulating FTs if I'm allowed by the FPL gods.

A lot of teams can look tempting to Bench Boost this or the coming GWs if everyone is available. While that may look tempting, and it has to me too, if you still have your other chips to navigate into a potential massive double gameweek with your Bench Boost and 15 doublers, you should keep that open in my opinion. More so this season that previously due to DEFCON from cheap assets and budget constraint not being too tough this season, which means your gains from maximizing the starting XI in a DGW is lower in relative terms.

During the coming week there is likely a lot of talk about Salah coming into teams - some by selling Haaland, others with double premiums. I've considered this as well, and I have actually been leaning towards it. Currently my plan is to not make the Haaland to Salah move in GW28, but let's see what happens.

The preview is not meant to be a review of the last DGW. but if you used your Triple Captain like I did, don't feel bad. Evaluate decisions based on available information at the time we had to make the decision. In that aspect, it was the right call.

Team selection

It's very simple for me this gameweek - I will roll the transfer.

Luckily Tavernier seems to be very close and potentially in play for this gameweek, but my team is very strong, so there is no reason to take the risk.

A little more uncertainty regarding Timber for the weekend. As of now, I'll start him, but I could start Senesi instead if I'm too uncertain about Timber starting.

Haaland captains the side.

Good luck everyone!
