FPL GW12

Decisions to make

It looks to be a gameweek with a lot of action for many managers. International break injuries and favorable fixtures for popular players while knowing we get topped up with transfers soon should push a lot of us to make moves.

The main topic is who to sell Gabriel for, who has been amazing for most FPL teams, but with a spell on the sideline due to injury and a price too high to bench for a long time, it's time to go. But where?

There are many routes so it depends a lot on your team. I like Virgil, Timber, Saliba, Andersen, Senesi, Lacroix, Munoz and probably even more. I won't cover them all in detail but the top three of Virgl, Timber and Saliba are interesting straight 1:1 swaps.

Virgil has what looks to be great fixtures and also against teams that allow set piece threat more than most

Timber has been absolutely outstanding, he would be my first choice if I knew he played week in week out

Saliba is the steady pick, but he may benefit slightly from Gabriel being out both in terms of set piece threat and DEFCON potential

With how Arsenal have performed so far this season, I would probably go their way and decide between Timber and Saliba. Timber is a bit more at risk of a benching in the tight schedule, and with him not appearing in training pictures I'm a little concerned.

Other than this, most teams should look fairly decent this week. Only if you still own Semenyo, you have a tough call to make. I think he plays, and unless you have a terrible bench I would keep and start.

Enzo is luckily for me cleared to play and with the return of Palmer postponed, we can probably still assign him to penalties and maybe even postpone selling him.

Looking a bit ahead

I still have Salah in my team and have to figure out when to dispose him for AFCON and turn to Haaland. I'm currently debating GW13 and GW15, which means I need at least 2 FTs available next GW. I haven't made a final decision and it will depend on what kind of performances we see from the two over their coming games.

For those with Free Hit available, FH13 looks good if you can set up for it.

Triple captain chips are probably used best in GW17 on Haaland home to West Ham.

Wildcard and bench boost are extremely team dependent at this stage, but wildcard is an option this week if your team does not look good.

Make sure to set your team up with nailed players over the coming period where rotation is historically very high. Even though we get 5 FTs in GW16, I would recommend to have a robust team so that you can take advantage of that flexibility aggressively rather than having to clean up a mess.

One last thing in the section, most projection models currently have Cunha and Foden extremely high very soon - Foden from GW13 and Cunha into AFCON where his minutes look more secure. I would not touch these guys, their underlying stats have been extremely poor at their price and I wouldn't be extremely surprised if we see a bit funky minutes too. Just an early warning.

Team selection

I have 2 FTs, but I need to make sure I have 2 FTs next week in case I want to move for Haaland.

Gabriel will be sold this gameweek and thus using 1 FT. As he is the most expensive defender, I can afford anyone. He is likely to fall in price tonight, so I will probably make the move tonight as I will lose 0.1 team value if I don't.

I've landed on Saliba as I find Timber too risky both this gameweek and in future gameweeks with the tight schedule.

Salah will be my captain and he is projected clearly ahead of anyone else, so I can hopefully make some gains this weekend. When I say that it usually turns out the other way, but we will see.

Good luck everyone!
