The Gyokeres Dilemma

Not much to discuss this week as there are no major shifts in fixtures, we have an international break coming up, and there are not many new injuries to key FPL assets.

There is one, and that is Gyokeres. Personally I am sad that everyone now gets to sell him as he has always been a poor FPL asset in my view due to his price tag and rule changes nerfing forwards.

This opens up other Arsenal routes, and the main discussion point should be whether to triple up in defense or get Saka. I don't think there are any other viable offensive assets to discuss, not Rice either.

I would advise to prioritize your choice based on your team structure and where you have other players you would like to let go. In most cases Thiago will probably be the best Gyokeres replacement leaving extra money for the likes of Saka or a 4.0 defender upgraded to Gabriel/Timber/Saliba.

If you are completely flexible between the two options, I would prefer the triple up in defense. Arsenal have produced crazy defensive stats this season, and Saka is by no means a bad asset, but he isn't worth his price either. Unless you don't own Haaland like me, then Saka is probably a good buy to captain this GW.

If you do not have the Gyokeres Dilemma, then you are most likely in a good place to roll, and that's completely fine. I'd much rather use that FT to chase upside before we get the AFCON transfers later on.

Team selection

I have a bit of forward trouble, which is probably only deserved due to how much I've bashed the category this season, as we are uncertain of the availability of DCL and how the Bournemouth forwards line up. DCL has also not performed and could see the bench even when available. As for Evanilson, Kroupi Jr. has performed well and there is a very slight chance it's now his spot to loose. In any case, this has affected the minutes Evanilson negatively. With Evanilson not having a great fixture either, I've decided to part ways with DCL. I must admit I have had so many dreams and "told you so"-tweets lined up regarding DCL that I will have to store in a safe place for a future relationship. Or maybe I should start listening and stay away. I will for now at least.

This means Thiago is coming into the team. Not an amazing fixture this week, but he is a solid pick for the long term and rotates well with Evanilson, who has WHU in GW12 and Thiago has Burnley GW13.

The only thing bothering me is that I'm priced out of Virgil for GW12 unless I make two moves. There are great routes with Andersen or Senesi from GW12, so I'll find a way around. Let's see how much the international break will shake up in terms of injuries and what not.

I'm unsure about captain and will make a call tomorrow. Saka, Enzo and Bruno is my current order. Happy to go against Haaland once again, come join me behind the sofa.
