Eliteserien Fantasy Gameweek 27: captains and best buys

Eliteserien Fantasy Gameweek 27 tips: best buys, captain picks and differentials

Eliteserien Fantasy Gameweek 27 starts the last four gameweeks of the season. After the international break the matches come quickly: Gameweek 27 opens on Friday 20 November with Molde against Bodø/Glimt, Gameweek 28 follows a week later, Gameweek 29 is played on 4 to 6 December and Gameweek 30 kicks off all eight matches together on 13 December. So the program behind this deadline is not a slice of the season any more. It is the whole of what is left, and every transfer you make now has to pay over three or four gameweeks at most.

Three things shape the decision. Bodø/Glimt have the best run-in in the league by a distance, and the one soft spot in it is this gameweek's trip to Molde. Rosenborg have the best single fixture of Gameweek 27 and a fading run behind it. And Molde face Bodø/Glimt, Rosenborg and Viking in a row, which makes this the gameweek to move on from Molde assets. Below we cover who to buy, who to captain, the differentials worth a transfer and who to sell, all built on our model's projected points (xP) for Gameweek 27 to Gameweek 30. You can sort every player yourself on the Eliteserien Fantasy player picks page, and last week's calls are in our Eliteserien Fantasy Gameweek 26 preview.

Gameweek 27 to 29 programs: whose next three gameweeks are worth owning

Bodø/Glimt own the run-in. [A]MOL → [H]KFU → [A]AAL adds up to 7.98 expected goals and 0.91 expected clean sheets over the next three, and the final-day home game against Sarpsborg 08 takes them to 11.16 expected goals over all four remaining gameweeks. Gameweek 27 at Molde is the weakest week in it, at a 49% win probability and a 18% clean sheet chance. After that come KFUM at home (71%), Aalesund away (78%) and Sarpsborg 08 at home (78%). That is three very good fixtures out of four, and the Molde week is one to plan around, not a reason to wait.

Viking are second over three with [A]TRO → [H]VIF → [A]MOL: 6.71 expected goals and 0.75 expected clean sheets. The two home games carry the case, Vålerenga in Gameweek 28 at a 76% win probability and Hamarkameratene on the final day at 74%. The away trips to Tromsø and Molde are the ordinary weeks. Brann follow the same pattern with [A]KFU → [H]KBK → [A]S08 (6.24 xG, 0.81 expected clean sheets), strong at home to Kristiansund (74%) and Aalesund (75%) and middling away from home.

Rosenborg are the "sell into" team of the round. Their trip to Aalesund carries the best win probability (56%) and the best clean sheet chance (36%) of Gameweek 27, but [A]AAL → [H]MOL → [A]VIF drops away after it: Molde at home sits at 35% and Vålerenga away at 40%. Tromsø are the reverse case. Viking at home this gameweek is hard, but [H]STA in Gameweek 29 carries a 43% clean sheet chance, the best of any team across the four remaining gameweeks, which is what keeps Tromsø defenders worth holding.

Teams to avoid over the next three: Aalesund ([H]RBK → [A]FRE → [H]BOD, 0.33 expected clean sheets, the fewest in the league, and 3.31 xG, level with Start for the lowest), Kristiansund BK (0.35 expected clean sheets with Brann and Lillestrøm in the run) and Molde, whose 0.45 expected clean sheets are the third-lowest in the league, with Bodø/Glimt, Rosenborg and Viking in a row. The full fixture difficulty view for every team is on the Eliteserien Fantasy schedule page.

Best goalkeepers for Gameweek 27

Elias Hadaya (5.1m, SAN) is the keeper to buy and forget. Sandefjord go [A]KBK → [H]TRO → [A]H-K → [H]VIF, and his projection barely moves: 3.5 → 3.5 → 3.5 → 3.7, 14.2 points over the four remaining gameweeks, the highest of any goalkeeper. Only 3.4% of managers own him.

Leander Øy (4.6m, S08) has the best three-gameweek total of any keeper with 3.8 → 4.0 → 3.2 (11.0) on [H]LIL → [A]STA → [H]BRA. The catch is Gameweek 30 away at Bodø/Glimt, where he drops to 2.4, so he is a three-gameweek keeper rather than a hold to the end. Nikita Haikin (5.7m, BOD) is the template pick at 23.0% owned, and Bodø/Glimt's run explains it: 3.1 → 3.8 → 3.6 → 3.6 on [A]MOL → [H]KFU → [A]AAL → [H]S08. Gameweek 27 at Molde is his weakest week, so owners keep him and nobody needs to rush in this gameweek.

On a budget, Simen Vidtun Nilsen (4.2m, BRA) projects 3.7 → 4.1 → 1.8 on [A]KFU → [H]KBK → [A]S08. The first two weeks are what you buy: the model shares Brann's goal from Gameweek 29, so treat him as a two-gameweek keeper. Leopold Wahlstedt (5.3m, RBK) (3.9 → 3.1 → 3.3 → 3.7 on [A]AAL → [H]MOL → [A]VIF → [H]KFU) is the Rosenborg option if you want the Aalesund clean sheet chance this gameweek and a decent final day at home to KFUM.

Best defenders for Gameweek 27

The three-gameweek ranking and the Gameweek 27 ranking disagree at the back, and the three-gameweek one wins. Alexander Warneryd (6.2m, TRO) leads every defender over three with 3.5 → 3.9 → 5.6 (13.0) on [H]VIK → [A]SAN → [H]STA. The Viking home game is the soft week, and the 5.6 in Gameweek 29 against Start is the highest defender projection of that gameweek. If you are buying one defender to keep, buy him.

Fredrik André Bjørkan (6.5m, BOD) is the Bodø/Glimt defender to buy. 3.6 → 4.8 → 4.3 → 4.7 on [A]MOL → [H]KFU → [A]AAL → [H]S08 adds up to 17.4 over the four gameweeks, level with Fredrik Sjøvold (7.8m, 38.2% owned) for 1.3m less. Sjøvold owners should hold. Anyone without Bodø/Glimt cover should buy Bjørkan now, because the run turns after Molde and the three strong weeks start in Gameweek 28.

Daniel Eid (5.6m, FRE) is the mid-price pick at 6.0% owned: 3.3 → 5.2 → 3.1 on [A]H-K → [H]AAL → [A]KFU, with the Gameweek 28 home game against Aalesund (5.2) as the reason to own him. He is a decent three-gameweek hold rather than a four-gameweek one. The differential is Sander Håvik Innvær (4.7m, TRO) at 0.4% owned. He gives you Tromsø's [H]VIK → [A]SAN → [H]STA, including the Gameweek 29 Start fixture, for 4.7m, with 3.1 → 3.3 → 4.4. The model has him on 68 minutes rather than the full 90, which is the risk you take for the price.

For this gameweek only, Martin Gjone (4.7m, H-K) has the highest Gameweek 27 projection of any defender at 4.3, at home to Fredrikstad, and the best points per million in the position (0.91). His program then goes [H]FRE → [A]LIL → [H]SAN and he falls to 2.4 at Lillestrøm, so he is a one-gameweek play. Jonas Lange Hjorth (4.8m, KFU) (3.6 → 1.7 → 5.0 on [H]BRA → [A]BOD → [H]FRE) is the same idea with the good week at the end: avoid him for the Bodø/Glimt away game in Gameweek 28, and the Fredrikstad home game in Gameweek 29 is worth 5.0.

Best midfielders for Gameweek 27

Ole Blomberg (9.9m, BOD) is the best midfield buy of the run-in. His trajectory rises every week, 5.5 → 6.0 → 6.8 → 6.8, for 25.1 over the four remaining gameweeks, the most of any player in the game. The program is [A]MOL → [H]KFU → [A]AAL → [H]S08. Only 12.8% own him. Bringing him in now covers all four gameweeks, including the softest of them at Molde, and he is also the strongest captain option for Gameweek 29 and Gameweek 30.

Amin Chiakha (8.2m, RBK) tops this gameweek at 6.7, with 0.59 expected goals at Aalesund, and he is Rosenborg's penalty taker. His run is [A]AAL → [H]MOL → [A]VIF, 6.7 → 5.6 → 5.8 for 18.1 over three. Rosenborg's later fixtures are weaker, but his output stays high, so this is a buy that holds rather than a one-gameweek rental. Owned by 37.7%, he is also the cheapest of the top three midfielders over three gameweeks.

Zlatko Tripic (12.6m, VIK) (59.2% owned) is a hold. He projects 5.6 → 7.2 → 5.2 → 6.1 on [A]TRO → [H]VIF → [A]MOL → [H]H-K, and the 7.2 at home to Vålerenga in Gameweek 28 is the biggest single-gameweek projection of the run-in. Jens Petter Hauge (10.4m, BOD) (5.3 → 5.5 → 5.5 → 5.9 on the same [A]MOL → [H]KFU → [A]AAL → [H]S08) is the second Bodø/Glimt midfielder if you want double cover of the best program.

The differential is Niklas Castro (7.4m, BRA) at 1.4% owned: 4.7 → 5.9 → 4.9 on [A]KFU → [H]KBK → [A]S08, 15.5 over three for 7.4m. The Kristiansund home game in Gameweek 28 is his best week. Felix Va (6.4m, LIL) gives you a Lillestrøm midfielder at 6.4m, with 4.3 → 4.9 → 4.8 on [A]S08 → [H]H-K → [A]KBK. That is a flat, dependable program and 14.0 over three. Sandefjord's Evangelos Patoulidis (7.0m, SAN) (5.3 → 4.3 → 4.4 → 5.0 on [A]KBK → [H]TRO → [A]H-K → [H]VIF) is the other differential, and he gets better again on the final day at home to Vålerenga.

The budget pick is Sondre Milian Granaas (4.9m, MOL) at 4.9m and 1.7% owned: 3.6 → 4.3 → 3.9 → 4.7 on [H]BOD → [A]RBK → [H]VIK → [A]FRE, 16.5 over four. The Molde program is hard, but his own projection holds up through it and peaks on the final day, so he is the one Molde player worth owning.

Best forwards for Gameweek 27

Andreas Helmersen (8.4m, BOD) is the forward to own to the end of the season. He leads the position this gameweek and over every horizon: 5.2 → 5.4 → 6.2 → 5.9, 16.8 over three and 22.7 over four, on [A]MOL → [H]KFU → [A]AAL → [H]S08. His 0.46 expected goals at Molde is the highest of any forward this gameweek, and it gets better from Gameweek 28.

Peter Christiansen (10.8m, VIK) (38.1% owned) is a hold rather than a buy this gameweek, on [A]TRO → [H]VIF → [A]MOL → [H]H-K. He projects 4.1 at Tromsø on 62 expected minutes, then 5.8 against Vålerenga and 6.5 on the final day at home to Hamarkameratene. Erik Botheim (9.7m, VIK) is the low-owned way into the same Viking program at 3.2%, with 3.8 → 5.1 → 4.3 → 5.3.

Daniel Seland Karlsbakk (8.7m, S08) (4.6 → 4.1 → 4.0) is a three-gameweek forward on [H]LIL → [A]STA → [H]BRA. He drops to 2.8 away at Bodø/Glimt on the final day, so plan to move him on before Gameweek 30. Daniel Braut (6.0m, TRO) is the budget option at 6.0m: 3.4 → 3.3 → 3.5 on [H]VIK → [A]SAN → [H]STA, steady through the run-in.

Best captain picks for Eliteserien Fantasy Gameweek 27

Amin Chiakha (8.2m, RBK) is the captain for Gameweek 27. His 6.7 is the highest projection in the game this gameweek, he takes Rosenborg's penalties, and Aalesund away is the best fixture of the round. His program, [A]AAL → [H]MOL → [A]VIF, keeps him in the conversation as a holding pick afterwards.

The alternatives are Zlatko Tripic (5.6 at Tromsø) and Ole Blomberg (5.5 at Molde). Look further ahead and the captaincy moves: Tripic is the pick for Gameweek 28 with 7.2 at home to Vålerenga, and Blomberg leads Gameweek 29 and Gameweek 30 at 6.8 in both. Chiakha, Tripic and Blomberg together give you the top captain in each of the four remaining gameweeks, which is the strongest reason to find room for Blomberg now.

Who to sell before Gameweek 27

Emil Breivik (7.9m, MOL) (51.7% owned) is the clearest sell, and this is the gameweek to do it. Molde's next three are [H]BOD → [A]RBK → [H]VIK, Bodø/Glimt, Rosenborg and Viking in a row, and he projects 3.7 → 3.9 → 3.9 for 11.5 over three. Amin Chiakha costs 0.3m more and projects 18.1 over the same three gameweeks. The one good Molde fixture, away at Fredrikstad, only arrives in Gameweek 30, so holding means keeping him through all three hard weeks.

Kristian Hemmingsen Lonebu (6.9m, MOL) (28.5% owned) goes for the same reason: 3.2 → 2.8 → 3.2 on the same Molde run, with 66 and then 54 expected minutes. Andreas Helmersen projects 16.8 over three to his 9.2. Sell now, before the Bodø/Glimt game.

Leo Cornic (6.3m, BRA) (25.0% owned) is a sell on minutes, not on fixtures. Brann's [A]KFU → [H]KBK → [A]S08 is a decent program, but his expected minutes go 52 → 44 → 41 → 29 and his projection is 2.2 → 2.6 → 1.9 → 1.7. The minutes shrink every week, so this is the most valuable week to move him. If you want to keep Brann cover, Fredrik Pallesen Knudsen (4.7m) projects 9.3 over three.

Pontus Dahlberg (4.9m, LIL) (20.2% owned) has lost Lillestrøm's goal in our model: we have had Stefan Hagerup in the projected lineup since Gameweek 25, and again for Gameweek 27, where Dahlberg projects 0.0. Lillestrøm's [A]S08 → [H]H-K → [A]KBK is a fair run, but at best Dahlberg shares the job after this gameweek (0.0 → 1.5 → 1.5 → 0.7), so there is nothing to wait for. Thomas Lehne Olsen (7.9m, LIL) (22.5% owned) is a softer sell. The same fair program applies, so this is not about fixtures. He is on 52 expected minutes and 2.9 → 3.2 → 3.2, while Felix Va from the same club projects 14.0 for 1.5m less. If you have a bigger fire to put out this gameweek, you can wait a gameweek on this one.

Best Rich Uncle team for Gameweek 27

If you are playing Rich Uncle this gameweek, the highest-projected legal squad (max three per club) for Gameweek 27 alone is:

That starting XI projects 61.0 points including the captain's double. It is a one-gameweek team, so the Vålerenga and Hamarkameratene defenders in it are there for the home fixtures this gameweek, not for the run-in. The exact live optimum for every chip is on the Eliteserien Fantasy optimal teams page.
