FPL Rate My Team: Free Team Rating Out of 100 for This Gameweek
"Rate my team" is the question every FPL manager asks before a deadline: is this squad actually good, or does it only look good? TheFantasyTool answers it with one number. Load your Fantasy Premier League team into our free FPL Team Planner and it rates your starting XI out of 100 for the current gameweek, measured against the best XI our model can find.
This guide explains what the rating measures, how to get yours in under a minute, how to read the score, and what to do when it is lower than you hoped. The rating is free and works without an account.
How do I rate my FPL team?
- Find your FPL team ID. Sign in to the official Fantasy Premier League site and open the Points page. The number in the address bar after
/entry/is your team ID. - Open the FPL Team Planner and enter that ID. Your current squad loads in a few seconds.
- Read your GW rating. The planner shows your starting XI's rating for the gameweek in view, as one whole number out of 100.
Change a player, swap your bench order or step to another gameweek and the rating follows the team you are looking at, so you can test a transfer before you make it.
What does the FPL team rating measure?
The rating compares your starting eleven with the optimal starting eleven for the same gameweek. Both sides are scored on our predicted points for that round, and your rating is your XI's predicted total as a percentage of the optimal XI's total, capped at 100.
- Starters only. Your four substitutes do not count, because they only score when someone in your XI does not play.
- No captain. The armband is left out on both sides, so the rating judges the eleven players you picked rather than one decision.
- One gameweek. The rating is about the round in view, not the rest of the season. A team built for a double gameweek three weeks away can rate lower this week and still be the right team.
- The same optimal team as our tool. The comparison side is the XI our FPL optimal team page solves for the gameweek, within the FPL budget and the three-players-per-club limit.
Predicted points come from the same model that powers every page on the site: expected goals and assists, clean-sheet chances from match odds, and each player's projected minutes. If you want the background, read what expected points are.
What is a good FPL team rating?
A rating of 100 means your XI is predicted to score as many points as the best possible eleven this gameweek. Very few real teams get there, because a real team carries transfers and plans from previous weeks while the optimal XI starts from scratch every round.
Treat the number as a gap, not a grade. A rating in the 90s means the optimal team is only a few predicted points ahead of yours, and chasing the difference with a points hit rarely pays. A clearly lower rating means one or more of your starters is predicted well below the alternatives, and that is worth a closer look before the deadline.
How do I improve my FPL team rating?
- Start with your bench order. A benched player who is predicted to outscore a starter is the cheapest fix in FPL: it costs nothing. Swap him in and watch the rating move.
- Check minutes before anything else. A starter with a doubtful fitness status or a rotation risk drags the rating down. Our FPL predicted lineups and injury news show who is expected to start.
- Look at the fixtures. The FPL fixtures and FDR page shows which teams have the easier run, read from match odds.
- Compare players directly. FPL player picks ranks every player by predicted points, so you can see who would replace your weakest starter.
- Let the solver suggest transfers. The FPL transfer suggestions page works out which transfers raise your predicted points over the coming gameweeks, including whether a points hit is worth taking.

Frequently asked questions
Is the FPL rate my team tool free?
Yes. The rating out of 100 is free and works without signing in. You only need your FPL team ID.
Why does my rating change during the week?
Predictions are live. When team news, injuries, predicted lineups or match odds change, predicted points change with them, and so does your rating. Check it again close to the deadline.
Does the rating include my captain and bench?
No. It rates your starting eleven on predicted points with no captain and no bench, on both sides of the comparison. For captaincy, use our FPL captain picks.
Can I rate a team for a future gameweek?
Yes. Step to a later gameweek in the Team Planner and the rating is calculated for the team you have planned for that round.
