Frequently Asked Questions

Plans, the free trial, the games we cover and how the predictions work.

Free access and subscriptions

Can I use TheFantasyTool without paying?

Yes. Every page opens without an account and without a card, and every tool has a working free version. A subscription does not unlock new pages - it removes the locks on the ones you can already see.

See the plans

What is free, and what does a subscription add?

Free for everyone: historic player stats in full, fixtures and kick-off times, loading your own team into the Team Planner, the first 7 players of every optimal team, and Player Picks where half the rows show real predicted points with the player hidden and the other half show the player with the numbers hidden. Every preview opens in full one hour after its round's deadline. For Fantasy Premier League the next two gameweeks of predicted points, the next gameweek's predicted lineups and its team xG and clean-sheet odds are free with nothing hidden. A subscription removes every lock: all predicted points and lineups, the complete optimal team, fixture difficulty and team xG for every round, the transfer solver with chip planning, and previews before the deadline.

Which plans are there?

FPL covers Fantasy Premier League only. Full Access covers every game and every sport on the site. Champion is Full Access plus Erik Ibsen's private Discord, and there is an FPL-only Champion as well. Every plan can be paid monthly or yearly. Prices are in euros and payment runs through Stripe; the plans page always shows the current prices.

How does the 7-day free trial work?

Full Access comes with a 7-day free trial. A credit card is required to start it. Nothing is charged during the 7 days, and if you cancel before they are over you pay nothing at all. If you keep it, the first payment is taken when the trial ends. The FPL and Champion plans have no trial and are charged when you subscribe. A trial can be used once per person and payment card.

How do I cancel?

On your Account page, at any time. You keep everything you paid for until the end of the current period, and no further payments are taken after that.

Your account

Can I get my money back?

Yes, within 14 days. You can withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of starting it - counted from the first day of the trial if you had one - and every payment made under it is refunded in full. Write to support@thefantasytool.com with your name and the email address of your account.

Can I change plan?

Yes, on your Account page. You see exactly what you will pay before you confirm. Moving to a bigger plan, or from monthly to yearly, applies at once and the unused part of your old plan is credited. Moving to a smaller plan applies when your current period ends.

Games and predictions

Which fantasy games do you cover?

Football is the core: Fantasy Premier League, UCL Fantasy, Bundesliga Fantasy, the holdet.dk manager games, the Swedish, Norwegian, Portuguese, Dutch, Italian and Saudi league fantasy games, and WSL and UWCL Fantasy for the women's game. Beyond football we cover F1 Fantasy, NFL fantasy and holdet.dk's golf game, plus cycling and handball games while their seasons run. The game picker at the top of every page always holds the live list.

How are the predictions made?

By one model, built and refined since 2017 and adapted to each sport rather than rebuilt for every game. For football it starts from how many goals each team should score, built from results, team strength and bookmaker odds; then projects every player's minutes; then his goals, assists, clean sheets, defensive actions, cards and saves; and finally scores all of it with the rules of the fantasy game you picked.

Our methodology · Model performance

What does pP mean?

Predicted points: what a player is expected to score in your game's scoring system for that round. It already counts the chance of starting on the bench or not playing at all, so a rotation risk is priced in rather than shown as a full 90 minutes.

How often do the predictions update?

All the time. During active periods the model reruns every 15 minutes, and team news, moving odds and confirmed lineups trigger a fresh calculation for the players they affect. Once a round's deadline passes, its predictions are sealed and never edited, so you can check what we said before the games against what happened.

Your team

How do I load my own team?

Open the Team Planner for your game and enter your team ID from the game's own website - for Fantasy Premier League it is the number in the address of your Points page. You do not need an account with us to load a team. Loading it is free; the predicted points on your pitch and the transfer solver come with a subscription.

What is the difference between the Team Planner and Transfer Suggestions?

The Team Planner is for managing your team by hand: transfers, captain, bench and chips, with the predictions beside every choice. Transfer Suggestions lets the solver decide - it searches for the best transfers over several rounds for your exact squad and budget, chips included.

Transfer Suggestions

Account, privacy and support

What do you store about me?

Your login (handled by Clerk), your subscription (handled by Stripe - your card number never reaches us), and the teams, plans and settings you save. You can delete your account yourself on your Account page; that also deletes your saved teams and settings and can cancel your subscription in the same step.
